Spooky Sips: Halloween-Inspired Cocktails

The moment it becomes October, spooky season is in full swing leading up to Halloween. What better way to be festive than indulge in some themed drinks inspired by the holiday. VALLEY has some cocktail recipes you can follow to make your spooky season even more thrilling this year. Drink if you dare.

Blood Orange Sangria
What You’ll Need
  • 1 bottle Cabernet Sauvignon wine
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 oranges
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup red apple (cut into chunks)
  • Ice
What You’ll Do
  1. Add all liquids to a large pitcher
  2. Add sugar and let it dissolve
  3. Cut up as much fruit as you’d like (in any shape or size you’d like)
  4. Add the fruit to the liquid and let it chill for at least 2 hours
  5. Serve over ice
Halloween Margarita
What You’ll Need
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 1 cup club soda
  • 3/4 cup tequila
  • 3 ounces trip sec
  • cherries
  • 4 teaspoons maraschino cherry syrup
What You’ll Do
  1. Juice the limes to remove the pulp
  2. Combine the tequila, triple sec and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until it’s cold
  3. Pour one teaspoon of the maraschino cherry syrup into the bottom of each class
  4. Add a cherry to each glass
  5. Fill each glass 3/4 full with the margarita mix
  6. Add 1/4 cup club soda to each drink
Skulls Shots
What You’ll Need
  • 1 ounce bourbon
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/4 ounce grenadine
  • Mountain Dew
  • dry ice chips
What You’ll Do
  1. Pour the bourbon, lime juice and grenadine into a shaker over ice
  2. Shake the mix and pour it into shot glasses
  3. Drop dry ice chips in the shots glasses and top them off with the Mountain Dew
Poison Apple
What You’ll Need
  • 1 ounce vanilla vodka
  • 1/2 ounce orange liqueur
  • 1 ounce sour apple liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1-2 ounces champagne
  • ice
  • green sugar (for the glass rim)
What You’ll Do
  1. Wet the rim of each cocktail glass and dip them in the green sugar
  2. Add the vanilla vodka, orange liqueur, sour apple liqueur and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker filled with 2/3 ice
  3. Shake the mix until cold
  4. Strain the drink into the cocktail glasses and add the champagne
Pumpkin Spice Punch
What You’ll Need
  • 2 apples
  • 2 pears
  • 1 orange
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 3 cups apple cider
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 bottles pinot grigio
What You’ll Do
  1. Slice the apples, pear and oranges and then place them in a large bowl
  2. Coat the fruit with lemon juice
  3. Add the honey, brown sugar, bourbon, apple cider and pumpkin pie spice to the bowl
  4. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours, or overnight
  5. Add the pinot grigio after letting the mix sit
