Happy Meals: A staple item on the McDonald’s menu, a fan favorite and a nostalgic part of many people’s childhoods. Growing up, you probably remember the rush of opening up a Happy Meal box and wondering what toy you received this time. This rush has been limited to children for years, but now adults are able to take part in this nostalgic feeling once again.

I know what you are probably thinking. The adult Happy Meal is probably not the most serious or breaking matter going on at the moment, but it sure is cool. McDonald’s has never launched anything catered towards an adults’ inner child, so this launch is pivotal for many lifelong McDonald’s fans and has made an impact on their McDonald’s dining experience.

On Oct 4., McDonald’s officially launched this limited edition item, and former Happy Meal eaters are ecstatic about it. This launch came as a complete surprise, so the impact was even stronger. McDonald’s partnered with a streetwear brand called Cactus Plant Flea Market to launch the Cactus Plant Flea Market Box. A collab with a clothing company for these meals is also an interesting route that we never expected McDonald’s to take, but this led to unique and modern toy designs for the toy you receive with your meal.

The adult Happy Meal consists of either a Big Mac or 10-piece chicken nuggets, french fries, a drink and a complimentary toy. There are four different toys available that you may receive, and you have the opportunity to collect Grimace, Hamburglar, Birdie or Cactus Buddy. These elements put together make for a killer meal.

Adult Happy Meals are in short supply because they are limited edition, so your local McDonald’s might have already run out of this meal. McDonald’s has a cult following, so some locations ran out of supplies on the day of the launch.

As the Adult Happy Meal phases out, their Halloween Buckets make their way to their menu from Oct. 18-31 while supplies last. This is a kids’ menu item that hopefully one day McDonald’s makes into an adult meal as well. Maybe we will be surprised with an adult Halloween Bucket this year? We all can only hope.

All in all, this adult Happy Meal launch rocked the world and made the days of many individuals who were impacted by Happy Meals as a kid. As this chapter closes, hopefully, a new and exciting launch from Mcdonald’s opens. But until that day, at least we got to experience the adult Happy Meal.
