Trick or Treat Halloween Care Package

What better way to show a long-distance friend you love them than sending them a care package? Even better, a care package filled with seasonal homemade treats!  These three fall-themed desserts will be sure to put you and a friend in the Halloween spirit!

Candy Corn Blondies

What You’ll Need
  • 2 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup White Chocolate Candy Corn M&M’s
What You’ll Do
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. First mix together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Then in a separate bowl mix the butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture until smooth.
  5. Stir in the white chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of White Chocolate Candy Corn M&M’s.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in a greased 9×13 pan and sprinkle 1/4 cup of White Chocolate Candy Corn M&M’s on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Halloween Candy Bark

What You’ll Need
  • 2 cups chopped white chocolate
  • 15 drops Flo-Coat Candy Coating
  • drop purple food coloring
  • drop green food coloring
  • drop orange food coloring
  • 2 tablespoons of large Halloween-colored nonpareils
  • 1 tablespoon of Halloween-colored sprinkles
What You’ll Do
  1. Microwave white chocolate for two minutes and stir until completely melted.
  2. Distribute the chocolate into three separate bowls
  3. Add five drops Flo-Coat and one drop of food coloring to each bowl, then stir to combine.
  4. Pour leftover white chocolate onto a baking sheet. Spread chocolate until it’s 1/8″- to 1/4″-thick.
  5. Drizzle colored chocolate on top and drag a toothpick to create swirls. Dust off the top of the chocolate with nonpareils and sprinkles.
  6. Place in the refrigerator to set for about 20 minutes.
  7. Break into pieces to serve.
“Poison” Apples

What You’ll Need
  • 10 small apples
  • 10  long sticks
  • 1 3/4 cups of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of purple gel food coloring
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black gel food coloring
What You’ll Do
  1. Insert wooden sticks into the center of each apple.
  2. Grease a large baking sheet with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Combine sugar, water, and corn syrup in a saucepan and stir in gel food coloring. Turn heat to medium-high.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves.
  5. Then lower the heat to medium and let it boil, without stirring, until it nears about 290 degrees. Remove from heat.
  6. Working quickly, tilt the pan and dip the apples in the mixture, twirling the apple through the candy to coat evenly. Hold the apple over the mixture for few seconds before placing on the greased baking sheet.
  7. Repeat with remaining apples.
  8. Let cool completely.
