It’s no secret that celebrities becoming the face of a brand can generate revenue, especially when they represent everyday brands like McDonald’s. Here are some of VALLEY’s favorite celebrity collaborations with the food industry over the years.

In July 2023, Alani Nu announced their biggest collaboration yet with Kim Kardashian. “Alani by Kim K” features a new flavor for Alani Nu: strawberry lemonade. This pink lemonade energy drink, also known as “Kimade,” contains 200mg of caffeine and zero grams of sugar. The drink also contains vitamins B6 and B12.

Although “Kimade” is currently sold out on Alani Nu’s website, this energy drink can be found at stores like GNC, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Walmart, Target and Amazon.

Justin Bieber has collaborated multiple times with Tim Hortons, the beloved Canadian coffee chain. It started out with “Timbiebs,” Bieber’s unique flavors of Tim’s bite-sized Timbits donuts. Timbieb flavors included Chocolate White Fudge, Sour Cream Chocolate Chip, and Birthday Cake Waffle. This collaboration also featured limited Tims x Justin Bieber merchandise.

Because of the popularity of this collaboration, it came back in June 2022. This time, a Bieber-inspired drink was added to the menu for a limited time, the “Biebs Brew.” The “Biebs Brew” was a take on Tim’s Cold Brew which featured a French Vanilla Cold Brew.

Also known as the “The Travis Scott Meal,” this iconic celebrity McDonald’s meal was the first celebrity-inspired meal since McDonald’s collaboration with Michael Jordan in 1992. The Travis Scott Meal included a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, bacon and lettuce. The meal also came with medium fries, BBQ Sauce and a Sprite for only $6.

Co-branded merchandise was also available to purchase. The Travis Scott Meal was available across all McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S. but only from September to October 2020. This celebrity collaboration was certainly a success as Travis Scott made an estimated $20 million from this deal.

Among one of the most recent celebrity food industry collaborations is the Dunkin’ x Ice Spice collab. This September, Dunkin’ released the “Ice Spice Munchkins Drink.” This drink is a twist from a regular pumpkin spice drink as it blends Pumpkin Munchkins and Frozen Dunkin’ Coffee and is topped with caramel and whipped cream. This drink packs a punch with a size small containing over 44 grams of sugar and a size large containing over 1,000 calories.
