Karoondinha Got Canceled: Now What?

Festival season is in full swing, and all of your favorite artists have made an appearance or are set to make an appearance at one, if not more. Chance the Rapper, John Legend, Paramore, Young the Giant, Odesza, and X Ambassadors, among many other amazing and talented artists, were set to perform at one of these music festivals, close to Penn State, in late July.

Karoondinha, otherwise known as K-Ha, was going to be held from July 20th-23rd in Centre Hall, PA at Penn’s Cave. K-Ha was going to be a music festival and an out-of-this-world experience with yoga classes, tours of Penn’s Cave, and strolls through a beautiful sunflower field.

Unfortunately, to the disappointment of many who bought tickets, Karoondinha was canceled during the last week of June, due to lack of interest and high costs. The founders of the festival, Kaleena and Paul Rallis, partnered with Eventbrite to both sell and refund tickets to each and every customer.

To help bring a little positivity to the situation, Valley has come up with a few ways for you to use the refunded money, if you were someone who bought tickets.

Four-Day Passes

If you bought four-day passes, which totaled around $300 if bought directly through Eventbrite, you can buy and do a slew of other things with the refunded money. If you’re still interested in going to a festival and are willing to wait a while, you can use your freshly refunded money to buy tickets for Firefly 2018, taking place from June 14th-18th. These tickets can cost around $289 for all four days.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can use this money to go on a trip through Airbnb and make some fun memories in a new place. If you’d rather stay closer to home, you can have your own free and fun adventures and buy a new camera to capture all of the amazing memories and fun.

Three-Day Passes

If you decided you didn’t want the full four-day experience of K-Ha (which is totally understandable – festivals can be stressful!), then you probably bought some form of single-day or three-day passes. If you bought a three-day pass, a total of $230, you have plenty of options for using the refund.

With the refund, you’re able to buy Penn State Football Season Tickets, which cost $218 for students – you’ll then have access to all Penn State home games and a boatload of fun with your friends, if you didn’t already know.

If you’d rather, you can spend the money on a plethora of makeup from Sephora or Ulta or invest in a few amazing pieces of clothing to add to your wardrobe. This vegan leather jacket from Free People would be a prefect addition!

One-Day Passes

If you bought a one-day pass, totaling $100, you can still treat yourself. You can buy yourself a rockin’ new pair of shoes, like these amazing Birkenstocks. You could also buy yourself tickets to another smaller concert, if that’s more up to your speed.

If you’re in the mood to be pampered, you can treat yourself to a mani/pedi and a brand new haircut!

Last but finally not least, you can take the money refunded from any type of K-Ha pass and save it or put it towards a long-term investment, such as a new car, an apartment, or a new phone. Either way, whatever you do with the money is up to you! Just make sure to enjoy yourself!
