During the wintertime, it’s super easy to get dry skin since the air is cold and less humid. We often forget the importance of keeping our skin hydrated and healthy. Just as we do with our clothes, we have to switch out some of our spring and summer products to our winter ones. Not only will your skin look healthier by keeping it hydrated during these cold winters, but it will feel healthier too. Additionally, keeping your skin nourished like this will be a bonus in the future because your skin will be less prone to wrinkles. VALLEY listed some different products to keep your skin feeling hydrated and fresh!

I am sure you are thinking “there’s a difference between keeping your skin moisturized and hydrated?” yes, there is. According to one of Tik Tok and Youtube’s most popular skincare specialists, @Hyram, keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized are completely different from one another. To have hydrated skin there are different processes that have to be taken and ways to take care of your skin compared to having hydrated skin. Additionally, it comes down to ingredients as water-based products are great for hydration and oil-based products are great for moisturizers.

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser

First things first; cleanser. Using a hydrating cleanser is an important step to maintaining hydrated skin. When using a face wash that is too harsh it, will strip your skin leaving it feeling dry. How do you know if your cleanser is too harsh? You’ll know it’s too hard on your skin if you have that dry, itchy feeling after washing your face. With this formula of this CeraVe Hydrating cleanser, it washes your face while leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated, at a favorable cost too!

iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Natural Face Serum & iUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum

The iUNIK serums are some of Hyram’s favorite serums because of the ingredients they contain-Tea Tree Leaf Water, Centella Asiatica Leaf Water and Black Snail Secretion Filtrate, a blend of 5 black superfoods, and Centella Asiatica Leaf Water. These serums are supposed to leave your skin feeling nourished and hydrated all day long. Although snails and skincare don’t usually go together, snail extract is actually a cherished ingredient for hydrating the skin! As Hyram said, snail extract is “like a magic potion.”

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

Having a good cream is another staple to maintaining hydrated skin. This cream by First Aid Beauty is another one of Hyram’s favorites. Some of the ingredients in this cream are Colloidal Oatmeal (OTC): a skin protectant that helps relieve any itching or irritation, shea butter and allantoin. Shea butter contains many vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids while allantoin calms the skin. Although this cream only has a couple of ingredients, it’s more powerful than other creams! When products contain too many ingredients and they do not sound familiar, it’s best to stay away.

Everyone’s skin is different and although these products could be great for some people, they might not be for others. Find what works best for your skin. Tweet us @VALLEYmag if you try any of these products!
