Hailey Bieber has been known for her notoriously effortless style, her marriage to Justin Bieber and her famous family. As of recently, she is generating a lot of attention thanks to her wildly successful skincare company, Rhode Skin by Hailey Rhode Bieber. Initially, people were skeptical of the brand, since many beauty or skincare brands founded by celebrities are written off as money grabs. As soon as Hailey launched her products, she was quick to prove the skeptics wrong.

A major criticism of celebrity/influencer brands is the lack of thought and passion going into the products. When Hailey began promoting Rhode Skin, it became clear that she is genuinely passionate about skincare and the ingredients used in her products. In fact, the products had been in the works for over two years prior to the launch of the brand.

Maddie Gores, a fourth-year student, explains her experience with the products.

“After being skeptical to try another celebrity product line I was genuinely impressed with Rhode and the quality of the products.” she says. “I will definitely be repurchasing them again and am excited to see what more the brand has to offer in the future.”

The Rhode Skin line is currently made up of three products: the Peptide Glazing Fluid, the Barrier Restore Cream, and the Peptide Lip Treatment. Both the Peptide Glazing Fluid and the Barrier Restore Cream are fragrance free, while the Peptide Lip Treatment comes in three flavors: unscented, salted caramel and watermelon. One of the best parts of Rhode Skin? All of these products can each be purchased for under $30.

Rhode Skin products are currently sold out on the website, but drops occur fairly frequently. If you’re wondering whether you should give Rhode Skin a try, VALLEY is here to provide the info you’re looking for about this hyped up skincare brand.

Peptide Glazing Fluid

The Peptide Glazing Fluid is a refreshing and hydrating serum. The key ingredients are niacinamide, peptides, hyaluronic acid and marula oil. Peptides are a staple in all of Hailey Bieber’s products. If you’re unaware of what peptides do for the skin, they stimulate your body to make collagen, which makes your skin look younger. The simple ingredients that make up the line are one of the most impressive parts about Hailey’s products. Rather than having a never-ending list of miscellaneous ingredients, Hailey carefully chose ingredients based on what she values in skin products she’s used.

One common critique that people have about this product is the container. The pump is a little difficult to use when you first try it out, and in some cases people have claimed it doesn’t work at all. Since it’s a new product, it’s likely that those packaging issues will be worked out for future drops.

Hailey Bieber is known for saying that she wants her skin to look like a “glazed donut.” This product is the holy grail for achieving this look; some people even choose to dab it over their makeup to add an extra glow. The Peptide Glazing Fluid is perfect to use during your morning and night skincare routines, as it keeps the skin feeling hydrated. At just $29, it resembles many serums that are typically sold at much higher price points.

Barrier Restore Cream

Similarly to the Peptide Glazing Fluid, the Barrier Restore Cream is another staple product available for only $29. The accessibility of Rhode Skin is a major benefit, since most high quality skincare brands and brands created by celebrities in general are typically much more expensive. In terms of the ingredients, the Barrier Restore Cream includes shea butter, squalane, peptides, açai and niacinamide. Hailey Bieber noted that the use of açai in the product is a tribute to her Brazilian mother.

Maintaining a healthy skin barrier is important, and this product does just that. It moisturizes and nourishes the skin with beneficial vitamins, including vitamins E, D, A and allantoin. The product feels extremely cooling, and it can be perfectly paired with the Peptide Glazing Fluid. The Rhode Skin website recommends starting their skincare routine with their favorite cleanser, followed by the Peptide Glazing Fluid, the Barrier Restore Cream, an SPF of their choice and then finishing with the Peptide Lip Treatment.

Peptide Lip Treatment

Who doesn’t love a great staple lip product? The Peptide Lip Treatment is the cheapest product in the line, priced at $16. Made of shea butter, peptides, cupuaçu and babassu, this lip treatment nourishes and heals the lips while providing that perfect plumped and glossed look. The varying flavors also ensure that you can get exactly what you’re looking for. The unscented is ideal for those who like to stick to fragrance free products, while the watermelon provides a fresh and fruity scent. Hailey Bieber’s favorite flavor? The salted caramel, and for good reason.

Sidney Beauregard, a fourth-year student, recently purchased the Peptide Lip Treatment.

“I love the Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment in salted caramel because it smells and tastes absolutely amazing! I love that it’s versatile enough to wear it like a gloss with lip liner or as the final step to my skincare routine.”

One of the best parts about the Peptide Lip treatment is that it’s been grouped in as a skincare product, encouraging people to treat their lips with as much care as they treat their skin. In addition to being good for you, the product also looks amazing paired with colored lip products. Recently, this product even received an Allure 2022 Best of Beauty award.

Next time Rhode Skin drops its products, get your credit card ready. Rhode Skin sells out fast, especially as more and more people are noticing the high quality of the products.
