VALLEY’s Top 5 Favorite Looks From “And Just Like That…”

And just like that, the “Sex and the City” cast took the world of fashion by storm once again! We are so excited to see the return of Carrie Bradshaw and her vintage dresses, chic evening clutches, and famous blue embellished pumps. Few television series have had a greater impact on fashion, and it certainly would not be an exaggeration to call Carrie “the original influencer”. The franchise played a pivotal role in the fame of Manolo Blahnik, and who could forget the episode in season four that introduced millions of Americans to the ultimate “it bag”, the Hermès Birkin. Here at VALLEY, we expect Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and all their new friends to set trends just as they did 20 years ago. In celebration, we are counting down our top five favorite outfits from “And Just Like That”!

We encourage you to follow @justlikethatcloset on Instagram to see every outfit from the “Sex and the City” reboot!

5.) Carrie Bradshaw – Paisley Please!

The first look on our list is this summery ensemble worn by Carrie! She has paired a thrifted maxi dress, adorned with a beautiful paisley motif, with the ever-recognizable Hourglass bag from the Gucci X Balenciaga collaboration that made waves in 2021. This handbag takes a spin on the already-popular Balenciaga Hourglass bag, a small top handle bag with a concave base and a crossbody strap. In this case, it was imagined in Gucci’s signature monogram canvas rather than its usual crocodile-embossed calfskin leather. She ties her outfit together with a pair of bedazzled platform sandals by British luxury footwear designer Terry de Havilland. We love the combination of Gucci’s “interlocking G” motif with a subtle paisley!

Wearing two different patterns can be difficult to pull off, but very effective when done correctly. Unsurprisingly, Carrie does so with aplomb! This unexpectedly glamorous pairing has earned the number five spot on our list.

4.) Miranda Hobbs – A Lesson in Lime Green

Our next favorite outfit is this colorful, yet casual look worn by Miranda. She opted for a denim dress by Swiss fashion brand Akris and layered it with a bright green vintage jacket by the classic Italian brand Max Mara, known for its craftsmanship and understated beauty. She carries a drawstring, balloon-shaped crossbody bag in a soft yellow by Loewe, incorporating the designer’s mature yet eccentric style into her outfit. Finally, she selects a pair of clog-like platform sandals that continue the look’s pastel green aesthetic.

VALLEY loves this arrangement’s appreciation of trends that took over 2021. Staggering platforms were a wardrobe staple last year that looks to be sticking around for 2022, and Miranda’s look also pays homage to what December 2021’s VOGUE Magazine dubbed “The Blue Period”, the event in which many designers took to devising unexpected uses of denim in the previous year.

3.) Charlotte York-Goldenblatt – Flowers are Always in Fashion!

Next on our list is this elegant look with a pop of color from Charlotte. She appears in a white sleeveless dress with a floral pattern by designer Lela Rose, who is known for incorporating such details into her pieces. Charlotte carries her belongings in style with a small-size Louis Vuitton Capucines bag in a soft blue. Interestingly, she appears to own this same bag in four different colors, seen all throughout the season! She also appears to be taking inspiration from Carrie, as she steps into a pair of Manolo Blahnik pumps in blue suede! This outfit presents several vibrant hues against a white foundation that allows them to stand out even more. There is also a theme of light blue throughout this arrangement which complements the dress’s cheerful aesthetic. VALLEY also appreciates the compatibility between this somewhat cottage core look and Charlotte’s character. This well-mannered yet playful getup suits Charlotte’s personality very well.

2.) Carrie Bradshaw – Forward Yet Familiar

Another fantastic showing from Carrie, this look is as beautiful as it is nostalgic. She invokes feelings of spring with this pink dress designed by Carolina Herrera. Notably, she accessorizes with this recognizable leather belt by Streets Ahead USA, the same one that she wore in the original series, which sports bold studs not unlike the ones seen decorating pieces by Valentino. Carrie is also carrying a stylish green clutch by Judith Leiber.

This inclusion may also be a callback to “Sex and the City”. Longtime fans may remember Mr. Big gifting Carrie one of Leiber’s famous bejeweled novelty bags, which was decidedly not to her liking. It appears that Carrie has found a place in her heart for the work of this storied designer! Lastly, no part of Carrie’s wardrobe is better known than her iconic collection of shoes by Manolo Blahnik. Fittingly, she is pictured making this New York sidewalk her own personal runway in a pair of his versatile leather pumps. VALLEY loves this elegant yet wearable look as well as the way that it pays respect to Carrie’s favorite and most recognizable accessories.

1.) Lisa Todd Wexley – Perfect Proportions

Finally, our favorite outfit seen on “And Just Like That” is this cartoonish ensemble worn by none other than cast newcomer Lisa Todd Wexley, also known as LTW, who is portrayed by Nicole Ari Parker. Welcomed with enthusiasm by longtime fans of “Sex and the City”, LTW appears in a daring yet exquisite outfit with creative proportions and vibrant colors. She wears an oversized blazer with balloon-like sleeves in a saturated pink by Elzinga Studios, a designer known for its unique shapes and sculpted shoulders. She complements this statement piece with a pair of gabardine Bermuda shorts by Max Mara in bright yellow, achieving an eye-catching “color block” effect. She continues her multicolored motif with a pair of rainbow-colored sandals by eponymous French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent, and she secures her daily essentials in the ever-trendy Louis Vuitton Coussin bag, sporting its recognizable gold-colored chain strap and monogram embossing.

LTW’s innovative silhouettes always include an assortment of statement accessories, and this one is no different. Her bangles and watch were designed by Mark Davis and Bvlgari respectively, and she capitalizes on the look’s cartoonish nature with large, exaggerated, tortoise shell frames by Linda Farrow, creating the familiar and effective pairing of large glasses and short hair. VALLEY cannot get enough of LTW’s show-stopping getup! This new character presents no shortage of inventive styles, and her look is unlike anything we have ever seen before. We patiently await more appearances of LTW and her fashion genius on “And Just Like That”!
