As we pass through this time of dark tragedy, we need a new hero to latch on to. In the wake of Dr. Derek Shepherd’s death, Dr. Jackson Avery is our golden beacon, the beautiful rock we must cling to. Whether you follow Grey’s Anatomy or not, there is no denying that the man behind the heartthrob surgeon is sheer perfection. The name of this majestic human being is Jesse Williams.
Before reading on, here’s a quick disclaimer: I call dibs. Now that that’s covered, let’s discuss why I am we are so in love with Jesse Williams.
He has a diverse portfolio of acting experience, from small comedies like Cabin in the Woods, to dramatic films like The Butler and feel-good flicks like Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants 2, but he’s perhaps most well known for shadowing McSteamy (RIP) in Grey’s Anatomy. But what we love most is that he’s stayed humble even after his modeling career.
Not only a total babe, Williams has a perfectly sarcastic sense of humor. Follow him on Instagram (@ijessewilliams) for some delightfully weird, charming, and goofball posts. A trait any Valley girl can admire is his impeccable sense of style and on point shoe collection. Although, his most distinguishing quality is undoubtedly his out of this world, piercing eyes.
The phrase a picture is worth a thousand words has never rung more true. Perfection. Just absolute perfection.
However, Williams is more than just a pretty face. He is the executive producer of Question Bridge, an ongoing project that “critically explores challenging issues within the Black male community.” William’s is also an eloquent writer. Not only is he a gorgeous, well-spoken activist but a dedicated husband and new father. A true love story, Williams met his wife Aryn back in 2007 while he was teaching in New York and they’ve been inseparable ever since. What makes the story even more romantic? Aryn, a real estate broker, is no different than you and I (besides the fact she’s now married to the most beautiful man alive). They welcomed their beautiful daughter Sadie into the world a mere year ago, and we couldn’t be happier for them!
