#WCW: Christmas Edition

Everyone has different Christmas-time traditions.

Maybe your family goes caroling around the neighborhood, or maybe you and some friends test out your skating skills at an ice rink. No matter what you do during the holiday season or who you do it with, there is one tradition that nearly everyone participates in each year – watching Christmas movies.

There is nothing better than making some hot chocolate and cozying up by the fire while watching our favorite holiday films. That is why this week, our #WCW is inspired by our favorite female Christmas movie characters.

6. Mary Class – “Santa Baby”

Jenny McCarthy plays Santa’s daughter Mary in this new spin on a classic tale. When her father falls ill, Mary, now a successful business woman, must put her normal life aside to save Christmas… and she does. Who said Santa couldn’t be a blonde?

5. Hero Girl – “The Polar Express”

Although she is never given an actual name, the little girl in The Polar Express never fails to make us smile with her singing and pure love of Christmas. She reminds us of how we saw Christmas as children and makes us want to believe all over again.

4. Clarice – “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”

Okay, so she’s not human. But, she’s adorable. With that cute, red and white polka-dot bow and those long lashes, who couldn’t love Clarice? Plus, she accepts Rudolph, shiny nose and all, so she was a must for the list.

3. Cindy Lou Who – “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas”

If there is anyone who embodies the true meaning of Christmas, it’s our favorite little Who. Cindy Lou befriends even the biggest, greenest Christmas-hater that is the Grinch and reminds us all that no one should be alone during the holidays.

2. Jovie – “Elf”

Zooey Deschanel steals our hearts and Buddy’s as Jovie, the former Gimble’s worker turned honorary elf (with a beautiful singing voice!). She shows us that we can always find the magic in Christmas, even if we did lose it for a while. Besides, we all know the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

1. Mrs. Claus – “The Year Without A Santa Claus”

Mrs. Claus comes in at number one for our Christmas #WCW because she is married to the big man himself, after all. In the classic “A Year Without A Santa Claus,” Mrs. Claus does everything she can to save Christmas, even if that means dealing with the Heat and Snow Misers.

Happy Holidays!
