As if the Biebers’ wedding (correction, second wedding) wasnt already the biggest celebrity party of the decade, Mrs. Hailey Bieber really threw the celebration over the top with her Off-White wedding gown, custom-designed by Virgil Abloh.
The couple was wed on September 30 at the Montage Palmetto Bluff hotel in Bluffton, South Carolina, but we didnt get to see Haileys gown until she posted the first official picture on Instagram on Monday, October 7. She really kept us waiting, but it was well worth it.
The gown is amazing, incorporating classic bridal style with its off-the-shoulder design, lace floral pattern and train, yet takes on an edgy side with the corset style top, as well as the signature Off-White arrows which can be seen in the gowns original sketches, posted to Ablohs Instagram.
The billowing veil tops off the gown, with the words till death do us part written in Ablohs signature block letter design on the train. Genius.
When@haileybieberasks if you want to design a wedding dress … thats a yes too. love you guys since time, for time?, captioned Abloh, congratulating the couple and showing off the gown on Instagram.
Many bloggers and news outlets feel that Haileys choice to ask designer Virgil Abloh to create her gown was shocking but VALLEY begs to differ. Off-White and its CEO Abloh, who is also the artistic director of Louis Vuittons menswear collection, has been dominating street style and high fashion for a couple of years now. How Abloh grew his brand is an entirely different and interesting story, but what we can say right now is that the fashion house is very popular with young celebrities, such as Haileys husband himself.
Hailey is a street style icon. She knows exactly how to style anything oversized, is often photographed strutting in sneakers not always chunky, sometimes slim looks amazing in a blazer or trench coat and usually always accessorizes the look with a bag or sunglasses. And she makes it look so effortless.
This, coupled with the fact that Justin is an avid wearer of Off-White and has his own streetwear line, Drew House, is why it makes perfect sense that Hailey would wear this designer on her big day.
The much-anticipated gown was stunning, absolutely rocking the internet and the high fashion industry this past Monday. If anyone could pull off an Off-Whitewedding gown, it was certainly Hailey Bieber.
