Wedding bells are in the air … again! We know that Justin and Hailey Bieber tied the knot last September in a New York City courthouse, and now one year later, the two have now walked down the aisle in a romantic South Carolina ceremony on Monday, September 30. In honor of the joyous occasion, VALLEY wants to reminisce on the history of the Jailey relationship.
The Early Years
It’s no secret that Hailey already comes from a famous family, with her father being actor Stephen Baldwin. Back in 2009 when Hailey was just 14 years old, Stephen introduced Justin Bieber to his daughter on the set of the Today Show in New York. Two years later, Stephen brought Hailey to the premiere of Justin’s documentary film, titled, “Never Say Never.” Bieber was dating Selena Gomez at the time, but clearly, Stephen was on to something. It’s here where he’s spotted with Sofia Richie, daughter of music icon Lionel Richie, sending the Bieber fan base into ANOTHER frenzy! After his attempted relationship with Sofia, Bieber decides to give it another shot with Selena for, the millionth time? We’ve lost track at this point. They were on again, off again for the next two years.

Let’s not forget the May 2018 Met Gala, where Hailey arrived with Shawn Mendes as her date, causing rumors to swirl that they were now an item! But finally, After about two years of not speaking, Hailey and Justin were now friends again! Hailey said in an interview withThe TimesUK, that:
“Justin and I were friends were friends for a very long time. I met him when I was really young and he was one of my best friends. Everybody knows that at a certain point in time that turned into something else, but that just happens when youre 18, 19. We went through a long period of time when we werent friends. We didnt speak for quite some time and there was a lot of weirdness that went on. Weve moved past that.”
Not long after the two rekindled their friendship, Shawn Mendes suspiciously disappeared from Hailey’s Instagram, leaving us withmanyquestions.

Hailey and Justin have now decided to give their romance another go, making it evident by making out whenever they got the chance. However, I think it’s safe for us to say that no one expected Justin to ask for her hand in marriage … at least that quickly. After all, him and Selena had just called it quits for the final time, and Hailey and Shawn had just parted ways as well … were we missing something? And now here we are, one year later, and the couple has now had an official ceremony with friends and family. Hailey walked down the aisle in a tent just to avoid pictures, but could we blame her? She wanted her day to be as private and special as possible!
According to an insider that reported toE! News, the wedding was fairy-tale themed, with “twinkle lights and purple lavender flowers hanging from the trees above.” Every table featured a bottle of Met covered with Sworovski crystals. In total, the wedding cost just about, if not more, than $500,000. Hey, go big or go home, right?
