The Met Gala is an eagerly awaited annual event in the fashion world. Celebrities gather at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and dress to a theme in order to raise funds for the museum’s Costume Institute. This year, the theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” Camp fashion is described as exaggerated and flamboyant, and the celebrities definitely delivered on this topic.
Here are some suggestions on how you can imitate your favorite celebrities’ looks without breaking the bank.
Lili Reinhart

Lili Reinhart looked stunning in a billowing romper with a train that could not be ignored. The over-the-top makeup and hair details really bring this camp look home. If you love this outfit but feel like it may be a little too much for an everyday outing, try the Feeling The Night Romper In Island Blue ($48.90) from Lucy in the Sky. It incorporates the pale blue and flowing nature of Reinhart’s looks without being too overbearing. The Jenner sisters always bring their A game to the red carpet, and this year’s Met Gala was no different. Kylie’s outfit consisted of a chainmail-style bodycon dress with large feather accents. This year, Lady Gaga co-chaired the Met Gala and set a new standard for red carpet entrances. She choreographed not one but three outfit changes during her entrance, and her every move was very deliberate and purposeful. She went from wearing a huge, hot pink coat and Sia-style bow to wearing nothing but her underwear, heels and fishnets. Only Gaga could pull off such an elaborate stunt, however, you can achieve the same fabulousness in a more toned down way by wearing a headwrap, like the Wide Front Twist Headwrap ($4.90) from Forever 21, instead of a larger-than-life bow.
