Summer is officially over but we still have our favorite songs playing on repeat. Valley asked its staff members to partake in some reminiscing of their own by recounting three of their favorite songs of the summer. We hope you enjoy Valley’s favorite jams of the summer!
Jasmine Clark, a sophomore marketing major and member of Valley’s PR staff, chose “Shark in the Water” by VV Brown, “Mess is Mine” by Vance Joy, and “Slide” by Calvin Harris as her top three songs of the summer. She says, “They’re all upbeat songs that I can listen to on the beach, in the car, or in the shower.”
Zoey Gottlieb, a junior PR major and Valley’s Business Director, decided on “Wind No Rain” by The Natterjacks, “Uncatena” by Sylvan Esso, and “First Time (Remix)” by Kygo and Ellie Goulding as her favorites.
Jenny Meyers, a former Editor-in-Chief of Valley and a Penn State alum, chose the song “Might Not Like Me” by Brynn Elliott as her favorite summer jam.
Anna Antselevich, a junior journalism major and a member of Valley’s events staff, vibed with country music this summer and picked “All Summer Long” by Kid Rock, “Country Girl (Shake it for Me)” by Luke Bryan, and “Flatliner” by Cole Swindell featuring Dierks Bentley.
Janie Cassady, a senior PR major and print writer for Valley’s editorial staff, listened to “Mercy” by Shawn Mendes, “Bad Liar” by Selena Gomez, and “Love Me Now” by John Legend the most this summer. Janie says that she loves these songs because “they’re just fun summer songs that also have a little bit heart behind them.”
Tess Petak, a junior PR major and Valley’s fashion section editor for both print and web, loved the songs “Malibu” by Miley Cyrus, “Despacito (Remix)” by Luis Fonso and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber, and “Versace on the Floor” by Bruno Mars.
Victoria Morales, a senior print and digital journalism major and Valley’s self-improvement section editor for both print and web, chose “Unforgettable” by French Montana, “New Rules” by Dua Lipa, and “Sorry Not Sorry” by Demi Lovato as her favorite songs of the summer.
Katherine Gouldin, a junior philosophy and CAS major and web writer of Valley’s editorial staff decided on “Lay It on Me” by Kasbo, “Feel It” by Young Thug, and “Waves That Rolled You Under (Backstroke Remix)” by Young Summer as her summer favorites. She says, “I’ve had them on repeat constantly because of their very summery vibes!”
