Touch of A Gene

“They just don’t make things like they used to,” is a phrase we are sure many of you have heard time and time again. Older generations often use it to express frustration with the constant decline of high-quality products and long-lasting items.

Real talk though … they might have a point.

Nothing Like The Original

Don’t worry, we are not going to talk about furniture or cars or dinnerware. No, we want to explore the iconic and beloved style of pants that has been around forever — jeans. We are well aware of how uncomfortable they may be. Seriously, they are made of firm material that makes you fear bending down … but we cannot argue with the fact that a good pair of jeans can make you feel and look amazing.

In today’s market though, the options for that perfectly fitting pair of jeans are limited. You either love them until you put them through a wash cycle, or you go broke purchasing a pair. And when you do sum up the courage (and funds) to order off of Hollister or Abercrombie & Fitch, they come folded in the mail stiff as a board. It takes months to mold the jeans into feeling remotely wearable.

The Solution?

We do not mean to bash every pair of jeans out there, because there are those once-in-a-lifetime pairs you’ll discover. However, VALLEY stands by our emphasis on once-in-a-lifetime.

There might just be a solution though … secondhand jeans. Whether this be at a thrift store, vintage shop or even hand-me-down jeans, there is something so much better.

If you live by any piece of advice, it should be to never go into a second-hand store and not try on a pair of jeans you suspect will fit you. Even if you think there is about a 1% chance they’ll fit … do it. You never want to miss out on a good-quality, worn-in pair of jeans.

Made To Fit

There is something to say about a vintage pair of jeans. A big part of it is because they are already molded into a shape that may be perfect for you. Somebody else already did the work for you, now all you have to do is style it to perfection.

Next time you are in a thrift shop, make sure to check out the jeans section. A touch of a gene may just be what you need to find THAT pair.
