It’s not a secret anymore — a spin-off of “Pretty Little Liars” is coming. If you are a big “Pretty Little Liars” fan, the end of the series last spring probably left you with a whirlwind of emotions. You never wanted the thrill of discovering the identity of “A” or Uber A to end. Luckily, a spin-off called “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” will be airing on Freeform on Wednesday, March 20.

So, what’s it about?

Much like “Pretty Little Liars,” “The Perfectionists” is based off of another one of Sara Shepard’s book series. Although the show is said to differ from the book series, it is possible that they follow a very similar plot line. Here’s what we know from Sara Shepard’s website:

“In Beacon Heights, Washington, five girls — Ava, Caitlin, Mackenzie, Julie and Parker — know that you don’t have to be good to be perfect. At first the girls think they have nothing in common, until they realize that they all hate Nolan Hotchkiss, who’s done terrible things to each of them. They come up with the perfect way to kill him — a hypothetical murder, of course. It’s just a joke … until Nolan turns up dead, in exactly the way they planned. Only, they didn’t do it. And unless they find the real killer, their perfect lives will come crashing down around them.”

“The Perfectionists” television series takes place in a town called Beacon Heights at Beacon Heights University. Not much has been released about the actual plot of the new PLL spin-off show, but here is what the Freeform channel had to say in a press release:

“Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi.”

No one knows for sure whether “A” will be making an appearance once again, but it is certain that there will be mysteries, blackmailing and murders regardless of who the mastermind is behind it.

Who will be part of the cast?

Even though there has not been a lot of info released about the plot of the new PLL show, we do know that Sasha Pieterse will be returning as Alison DiLaurentis, the high school mean girl who was behind most of the lies and mysteries in the original “Pretty Little Liars.” Janel Parrish will also return as Mona Vanderwaal, the nerdy girl who first turned out to be “A” and then became a victim of Uber A and A.D. just like the rest of the girls.

As far as new cast members, actress Sofia Carson plays Ava, a popular, fashionable blogger who already reminds us of Ali. Kelly Rutherford, the actress that plays Lily Van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl, plays Claire Hotchkiss, the perfectionist mother of the Hotchkiss family who owns Hotchkiss Industries at Beacon Heights University. Next is Sydney Park who plays Caitlin, the girl who fits the mold of the perfect, smart daughter in Beacon Heights. Eli Brown plays Dylan, a dedicated musician who feels the pressure to be the best. Then there is Andrew, Dylan’s boyfriend, played by Evan Bittencourt. Mason is played by Noah Gray-Cabey, and he is the perfect guy — smart and athletic — at Beacon Heights University.

The premiere of “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” is almost here, so grab some popcorn and your PLL-obsessed besties, and get ready for more lies, secrets and mysteries than ever before.
