It’s that time again – our search has begun for new staff members! We are currently looking for Writers and Copy Editors to join us for the Spring 2015 semester.

WRITERS

No prior journalism experience is required! All prospective writers will join our staff first as web writers, responsible for contributing at minimum one article per week to our daily web content. After one semester on staff, you will then be permitted to write for our bi-annually published print magazine.

Writer auditions will be held Thursday, December 4 at 7 p.m. in 075 Willard. Admittance into our writing staff is based on a combined application/audition process. Below you can find the application, which has more information and should be brought to auditions completed. If you have any questions or cannot attend auditions, please email Samantha Allen at sallen0714@gmail.com for info about make-ups.

COPY EDITORS

All prospective copy editors must have a semester standing of either sophomore, junior or senior and have taken or are currently enrolled in: COMM260W and COMM467. You will be responsible for completing thorough fact checks of all web and print articles in addition to editing for AP style.

Applications for Copy Editors are due Wednesday, December 3 by 5 p.m. Admittance into our copy editing staff is based on a combined application/interview process, in addition to satisfactory completion of an AP style test, which will test micro editing, macro editing and design.  The application and AP style test can be found below. We will review all applicants and be in contact to schedule an interview. Please email the application, AP style test and your resume to our Copy Editing Director, Corinne Fierro, at cvf5109@gmail.com. You may also contact her with any questions regarding the application or the application process.
