Looking to ring in the 2019 New Year with a fresh pop of color? Start off 2019 by incorporating the Pantone Color of the Year: “Living Coral.” According to Pantone, this year’s color is described as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue” with a “golden undertone that energizes and enlivens.” Similar to previous colors like last year’s “Ultra Violet” and 2017’s “Greenery,” this hue has a heavy influence on fashion, beauty and home trends. Here are a few ways VALLEY suggests to incorporate some “Living Coral” into your life.

BEAUTY

When it comes to nails, add a little sparkle this year by trying Butter London’s tribute to Pantone’s Color of the Year. “Living Coral,” named after the 2019 color, is considered a peel-off glitter nail polish. Only available online at ulta.com, Butter London’s nail polish is a subtle way to add coral to an everyday look at only $12. Essie’s “Tarte Deco” is a less expensive option and is available at both Ulta Beauty and Target.

Leave it to Kylie Jenner to incorporate the latest trend with her brand new Kylie Cosmetics Metal Lip Kit in “Midnight Kiss.” This peachy coral color features a hint of metallic shimmer that’s long-lasting and includes a matching lip liner. At $28 a kit, “Midnight Kiss” is the perfect coral shade to wear to see Travis Scott perform at the Bryce Jordan Center this February — and maybe Kylie will be there too.

Add a pop of coral to the cheeks this year by trying Milani’s Rose Powder Blush in the shade “Coral Cove.” Go subtle or go big by applying as little or as much blush as you want on top of any makeup look. At only $8.29, this blush paired with luscious lashes and a glowing highlighter can make “Living Coral” come to life.

FASHION

Stay bundled this winter with a woven blanket scarf from Urban Outfitters. Detailed with distressed edges, this 75 inch coral scarf is sure to keep you warm while incorporating Pantone’s Color of the Year. Pair this $28 blanket scarf with any pair of leggings or joggers for a comfy and cozy outfit for the start of the spring semester.

As temperatures drop this winter, try incorporating the color coral with a cozy sweater. Forever 21 features a multicolored off-the-shoulder sweater with 3/4 length sleeves and hint of coral. At $26.60, this fuzzy sweater paired with leggings or sweatpants is a great way to stay warm when staying in. Another way to embrace the latest color trends is by pairing on an oversized jean jacket with the coral blanket scarf from Urban Outfitters for dinner with some friends.

HOME

Spruce up your space with coral accents such as the “LIVING CORAL Agate Marble Geode Gem” poster by Society6, inspired by the 2019 Pantone color. Decorate any dorm or apartment with complementing posters and photos to create a coral color scheme and banish boring walls. At the cost of only $19.99, this 18 x 24 inch poster — along with other fun prints from Society6 — is a great way to redecorate and make any space feel more like home.

Recharge this year with a subtle way to add “Living Coral” in everyday life by picking up a new charging cable from Urban Outfitters. This 36 inch universal phone charging cable is suitable for both Apple and Android products. For only $12.99,  it makes for a great charger for on-the-go.

Put your parents’ old vinyls to use this year by giving a home the gift of a (coral!) Crosley Bluetooth Record Player from Urban Outfitters. This record player is not only compatible with bluetooth audio but also features a headphone jack and stereo speakers at the cost of $99. For a less expensive option, try a set of coral wired headphones from Happy Plug for $34.99.
