For Your Sweet Tooth

Chocolate lovers, donut fans and ice cream enthusiasts can all agree on one thing—they have a huge sweet tooth that can only be satisfied by the best desserts out there. Out of all the restaurants in State College, VALLEY has put together a list of places known for their outstanding desserts.

For The Chocolate Lover

For all of the people who just do not understand why someone would choose vanilla over chocolate, VALLEY recommends trying out Dolce Vita Desserts.

This little bakery located right outside the Penn State campus offers a plethora of chocolate desserts to choose from. Whether it be mini bite-size chocolate cake truffles, freshly baked brownies or moist cupcakes, Dolce Vita has you covered.

The cute bakery also offers delicious, inexpensive holiday packages that you can give to another epic dessert lover this Valentine’s Day.

For The Ice Cream Enthusiast

We all have come to know and love the Berkey Creamery. If you have not eaten ice cream or gotten a milkshake from the creamery, are you really a Nittany Lion?

For all of those who have checked devouring creamery ice cream off their Penn State bucket list, VALLEY recommends the Meyer Dairy Store.

The ice cream store produces fresh dairy milk to many local businesses in and around Centre County. The founders say they take their ice cream very seriously and welcome everyone to stop in and try out one of their delicious flavors before their gone.

For The Donut Fans

Who doesn’t love a good donut? While Dunkin’ Donuts is probably the go-to place for a quick donut and coffee break, VALLEY has fallen in love with the new donut shop in Downtown State College, Peace, Love and Little Donuts.

When it comes to the best donut flavors, this shop does not mess around. From “groovy” donuts topped with cinnamon, powdered sugar, honey and maple sugar to “funkadelic” donuts topped with bacon, salted chocolate or S’mores, these dessert delights are too good not to try.

Grab your friends and each buy a different donut to taste test. We promise you will not be disappointed.

For The Pie People

Even though they’re not particularly ‘in season,’ you can never go wrong with a classic piece of apply pie.

For a freshly baked piece of pie, VALLEY recommends Gemelli Bakers, located on McAllister Street in State College.

With freshly baked breads, pretzels and pies, this bakery is a must for those chilly winter nights where you just want to curl up with a hot chocolate and a warm slice of pie.

Penn-State-Themed Desserts

If you are looking for a cute Penn-State-themed dessert platter for a potluck, or if you just want a cookie shaped like a Nittany Lion for yourself, look no further than Sweet Tooth Bakery and Cafe!

This bakery has a ton of Penn-State-themed desserts to choose from! They also have a bunch of other desserts that are not PSU-themed for non-Penn State fans (if those even exist).
