Fall in Full Swing: Activities for You and Your Friends

The air is crisp, the leaves are falling, autumn has definitely arrived. If you’re an avid lover of the season, then it’s time to make the most out of this fall. There are so many things to do around the State College area and VALLEY has the latest on fun ideas for you and your friends during the spooky season.

Haunted Maze

Harner Farm in State College has paired up with the Delta Zeta sorority to benefit the Starkey Hearing Foundation with their annual haunted corn maze. On Oct. 28-29, the attraction will open at 7 p.m., so if you’re in the mood for a good scare, this is definitely your spot. If you prefer to be the one doing the scaring, event planners are looking for volunteers to dress up and frighten guests!

Pumpkin Picking

Both Harner Farm and Wasson Farm have pumpkin patches. Perfect for you and your friends to go pick out the ideal jack-o-lantern. Grab some apple cider and get carving! If you’re not much of an expert in carving, don’t fear. Way Fruit Farm will be hosting a professional pumpkin carving session on Oct. 22-23.

Fall Fest

If you’re up for a quick ride over to Bellefonte, Talleyrand Park Fall Fest will occur on Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Yes, a lot of kids activities will be taking place. However, there’s a food and craft beverage tasting tent that will be sure to entertain.

Costume Parade

You may want to consider attending State College’s annual Halloween Costume Parade. The event will be held on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. You and your friends can enter in the costume judging contest and win a cash prize (or a candy prize if you’re looking to satisfy that sweet tooth)!

For the Homebodies

If you’re not the type to want to leave your couch while the leaves are turning orange, consider a horror movie marathon with your friends. The newest addition in the “Halloween” movie franchise has just been released, “Halloween Kills.” Watching the series in order is sure to add some thrill to a chill night at home.
