Hailed by some as the Met Gala of the West, the LACMA — Los Angeles County Museum of Art — Art + Film Gala made its return on Saturday, bringing together Hollywood A-listers from the art, film, fashion and entertainment industries. The tenth annual gala honored acclaimed film director Steven Spielberg as well as Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald, the portrait artists for Barack and Michelle Obama. Presented by Gucci, the star-studded affair was hosted by gala co-chairs Leonardo DiCaprio and Eva Chow.

Held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the fundraising event raises money for the museum’s film initiatives. The gala also benefits future exhibitions, acquisitions and programming for the museum. This year, over 650 guests attended the ceremony, which raised $5 million in support of LACMA’s film initiatives.

While the gala itself was extremely successful, most people couldn’t stop talking about the many memorable looks that graced the Gucci-fied red — or in this case, blue — carpet. Many celebrities arrived in creations from the mind of Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele and the Gucci team, but other designers also made an impression.

Here are some of VALLEY’s favorite looks from the night!

With one of the only non-Gucci looks from the night, Haily Bieber wore an icy-white Yves Saint Laurent dress. The column gown featured a structured V neckline with sharp padded shoulders, which contrasted the blousy bunched-up sleeves and looser skirt. Bieber paired the dress with chunky gold bangles from Tiffany & Co. and a minimalist makeup look consisting of shimmery eyeshadow and a bold maroon lip.

Jared Leto

Jared Leto turned heads when he walked down the LACMA red carpet sporting a white Gucci ensemble. Leto’s look consisted of a white blazer with matching trousers and a cream sheer top underneath, but the real focal point of the outfit was the pale pink feathered detail along the sleeves. The actor paired the striking white suit with a silver necklace and grey heeled boots, creating a disco vibe that we can all get behind.

Elle Fanning

In contrast to her usual penchant for floral gowns and dreamy pastels, Elle Fanning channeled gothic chic with a stunning sheer black gown created by Gucci. The dress featured numerous cutouts on the sleeves, bodice and back and also a completely sheer skirt. Fanning’s accessories and makeup replicated the dark vibe of the gown and ensured that Fanning made a bold statement.

Miley Cyrus

Choosing not to wear a gown for the evening, Miley Cyrus donned a suit that merged seamlessly into pointed-toe boots. The outfit was part of The Hacker Project, in which the Kering group-owned brands Gucci and Balenciaga mixed the codes of both houses to create a nonconformist suit featuring Gucci’s signature floral print and Balenciaga’s iconic broad-shouldered, hourglass blazer. Cyrus accessorized with a purse in the same Gucci floral print and several large colorful rings.

Lil Nas X

Following Jared Leto’s lead, Lil Nas X looked sported a yellow Gucci suit featuring the same pale pink feathered detail on the cuffs. The bold Gucci emblazoned set was layered over a peachy pink button-down shirt, brown loafers and Gucci logo socks. Lil Nas X chose to pair the suit with silver accessories, wearing a chunky silver necklace, silver rings and a single silver drop earring.

Jodie Turner-Smith

In another colorful Gucci-created look, Jodie Turner-Smith graced the carpet in a dramatic pink dress featuring countless sequins and jewels. Turner-Smith completed the look with a set of feathered hot-pink armbands and a silver clutch that matched the silver lining down the front and waist of the dress. It wasn’t only Turner-Smith’s gown that turned heads, but her striking updo that put her diamond earrings on full display.
