Since August 2015, One Direction has been focusing on solo projects. As for Harry Styles, that has included two albums, one world tour, several music videos and millions of fans supporting his every move.

Style’s newest album, “Fine Line” came out in December of 2019. Since then, he has had five singles and corresponding music videos; “Lights Up,” “Adore You,” “Watermelon Sugar,” “Falling” and “Golden.”

There had been speculation that “Golden” was going to be the next single for a few months leading up to it — radios were playing it and announcers had slipped and said that it was the next single from Styles. There had also been pictures of Harry filming a music video in Italy at the end of September.

No one was prepared for when the music video would be released. On Friday, it was announced that Harry’s newest music video would be out for the world on October 26.

Many fans had expected it to be a continuation of “Adore You” when Harry was sailing off into the ocean. Instead, the “Golden” music video is an upbeat happy video filled with sunshine, dancing and smiles from Styles himself.

This single follows “Watermelon Sugar” which was a summertime hit and Styles’s first song to hit the Billboard Hot 100-chart topping hit. Not even One Direction had a number one hit on that chart — the only song that came close was “Best Song Ever.”

Today, #Golden was trending at the top of the U.S. Twitter. Fans fluttered the hashtag with pictures and videos of Harry in his various looks and shooting locations.

Styles releasing this music video is just one of many projects he is working on. He has also been announced to play alongside Florence Pugh in an upcoming psychological thriller, “Don’t Worry Darling.” Filming for that has started this week and the movie should be out in 2021.

It was also announced that Styles invested in a new arena in Manchester, England. In an AP News article about the investment, Styles says, “As long as everything’s in order by 2023, hopefully, they’ll let me play there. If I haven’t messed it up yet.”

As the world has been at a standstill due to the pandemic, Styles is making the most of it and finding new projects that seem to be keeping him busy.

Styles was scheduled to do a world tour this year, but it has been postponed to 2021. There is a lot of uncertainty as to this being allowed to take place, but at least we can watch the “Golden” music video on repeat.
