About two weeks ago, Taylor Momsen was featured on Penn Badgley’s tri podcast, Podcrushed. Gossip Girl fans were shocked as no one had seen the Humphrey siblings together since the last episode that aired about eleven years ago. Despite not seeing each other for over a decade, the pair caught up like no time had passed.

Momsen is known for her roles as Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl and Cindy Lou Who in Jim Carrey’s “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” She is now in a flourishing band and is continuing her career as a singer. Keep reading to hear everything the pair talked about and some insight into what it was like to work together on Gossip Girl!

What Has Taylor Momsen Been Up To?

Momsen, the lead singer for the rock band The Pretty Reckless, has been thriving in her singing career. While talking to Badgley, she makes it known that she loved music even before her acting career. Her inspiration comes from bands like the Beatles and Pink Floyd. She was offered her role as Jenny at a young age; way before she could jump-start her love for music.

She took the role in Gossip Girl at the age of 13 and stayed on the show for about four years until she was ready to continue her music. Directors chose to write her out of the show so that it was easier for her to leave. Her last appearance turned out to be the last episode where Dan and Serena are getting married. Since then, she has formed a band and released four albums that have all done noticeably well.

About halfway into the podcast, Badgley and his co-hosts decide to dive a little bit deeper into the Gossip Girl world. Momsen remembers how because she was a lot younger than the rest of the cast, she found it harder to create friends and bond with her coworkers. She does recall Connor Paolo, who plays Eric van der Woodsen, asking her to hang out with him and his high school friends. Other than that, Momsen feels like she grew up fast due to the people she was around and how fast she became tabloid famous. She and Badgley do remember fond memories of filming scenes together and shared smiles while they told their memories.

It is always a surprise to see a former Gossip Girl cast member on Padgley’s podcast. If you have any thoughts about how this episode went, let us know and Tweet us @VALLEYmag!
