Five Famous Couples Who Make Us Believe in Love

Posted by Dax Shepard | @daxshepard

We all love to gush over a fabulous love story in a cliche rom-com, but there’s nothing quite like a real-life love story to give us ultimate #CoupleGoals. These five couples have inspiring love stories that reminds Valley that true love exists, after all.

Dax Shepard & Kristen Bell

This pair began dating in 2007 and tied the knot in 2013. They have been through real-life struggles– like Shepard’s substance abuse and Bell’s depression and anxiety– but have pulled through together and become even stronger. The couple are proud parents of two daughters, Lincoln and Delta.

“She’s way out of my league,” Shepard told Queen Latifah on her talk show. “Learn to dance, young men, learn to dance. Make jokes and learn to dance, and you can land a Kristen Bell.”

Also, you absolutely MUST watch this video of Bell telling the story of the time Shepard got her a sloth on “The Ellen Show.”

Ellen Degeneres & Portia de Rossi

Speaking of Ellen Degeneres, how could we not mention the pure love story of the talk show host and her beautiful wife, Portia de Rossi?

The couple, who are true trailblazers in the LGBTQ community, have been happily married since August 2008. They are proud pet-parents of two dogs and three cats.

“I’m so grateful for the love in my life,” Degeneres told People Magazine. “Because not everybody finds that. Not everybody finds that best friend.”

Prince William & Kate Middleton

This is a real-life fairytale for the ages. A regular girl and a prince— it’s basically Cinderella minus the pumpkins. Whether you were at the buying-plates-with-their-faces-on-them level of obsession or you just saw photos on magazine covers, there’s no way you didn’t catch a glimpse of their magical wedding day.

Don’t get the wrong idea, though. This royal couple, now parents of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, has always been goofy and adorable at heart.

“We both have a very fun time together, both have a very good sense of humor about things,” the Prince said at the couple’s engagement announcement in 2010. “We’re down to earth. We take the mickey out of each other a lot, and she’s got plenty of habits that make me laugh that I tease her about.”

Chris Pratt & Anna Faris

Speaking of a-dork-able couples, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris give the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a run for their money. The pair has been married since 2009 and are parents of a son, Jack.

Pratt has been known to regularly braid his wife’s hair and make her crack up in red carpet situations.

Faris told James Corden about the moment she knew Pratt was the one, “I’ve met the man of my dreams. We both have dead bug collections.”

Barack & Michelle Obama

We have truly saved the best for last. The Obamas, who have been happily married since 1992,  are absolutely ultimate #RelationshipGoals. The former President and First Lady, both accomplished leaders, are each other’s number one fan.

In his presidential speech, Obama said to his wife, “For the past 25 years, you’ve not only been my wife and the mother of my children, you’ve been my best friend. You took on a role you didn’t ask for, and you made it your own with grace, grit and style.”

Next time you’re doubting the existence of true love in this cold, dark world, take a look at these couples, and they will remind you that happy endings are not just for fairytales.
