Celebrity Friendships You’d Never Expect

It’s natural that celebrities meet and become friends with each other. After all, who could understand the experience of fame better than those who also live famously? Over the years, celebrity friendships develop that fans come to know and love. Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie and Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. However, factors such as cross-overs into different entertainment industries and age gaps can make some celebrity friendships feel downright random.

Yet, the randomness makes fans love those friendships even more.

Aaron Paul, Bryan Cranston and Drake

What could be better than having the Walter White and Jesse Pinkman bartending at your birthday? Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston attended Drake’s 37th birthday party in Miami, and the trio seemed to have a great time together.

Was Drake a “Breaking Bad” fan first, or were Paul and Cranston Drake fans before their time on the show? VALLEY wants to see their group chat.

Cardi B and Penn Badgley

Cardi B seems to love Netflix’s “You,” making Penn Badgley’s iconic Joe Goldberg stalker face her profile picture following the release of the show’s fourth season earlier this year. Badgley responded by changing his profile photo to a picture of Cardi B, and the actor and musician had a Twitter exchange that fans could not get enough of.

Cardi B’s song —”I Like It” — played in the show as Goldberg disposed of a dead body in season four: a collaboration fans did not expect to see on the dark, dramatic show.

Meryl Streep and 50 Cent

In 2014, actress Meryl Streep and Curtis Jackson, American rapper and entertainer 50 Cent, were seen together watching a Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks game. 50 Cent even said two years later that he felt starstruck, saying on “The Rachael Ray Show” in 2016, “I sat next to Meryl Streep, and I was like ‘I’m regular.'”

50 Cent recalls that Kobe Bryant came over to hang out with them when he was injured. The friendship has not been photographed since, but the famous actress and rapper were laughing on the sideline that day. 50 Cent even joked about Streep’s husband, Don Gummer being cropped out of the photographs.

Timothée Chalamet and Larry David

We’re still thinking about Timothée Chalamet and Larry David sipping espresso martinis in 2021. Fans had so many questions about the two actors lunching together in New York City, the main one being: What are they talking about?

VALLEY hopes to see an on-screen collaboration with the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator and the star of the new “Willy Wonka,” one day.

Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza

Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza are … roommates? People Magazine reported that Plaza lived with LuPone in her Upper West Side apartment for one month in preparation for Plaza’s Off-Broadway revival of John Patrick Shanley’s “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.”

While LuPone normally lives in her Connecticut residence, she found herself coming into the city more often and enjoying her time with Plaza.

LuPone gave Plaza advice for live performances and even cooked for her when Plaza felt sick. Although Plaza moved into her place now, VALLEY hopes to see these two hanging out again soon.
