Just like midterms, homecoming has snuck up on the students of Penn State. With the past few weeks packed with White Out and football games, concerts and comedians, it has been easy to look past homecoming. Ready or not, homecoming is coming in with a bang. Show some school spirit and join the Penn State community at the following events!

Penn State Homecoming Golf Tournament – Head down to the Penn State White Courses to kick off the homecoming festivities. On Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, there will be alumni and community tee times from 9:00-10:30 a.m. From 10:40 a.m.-12:10 p.m. there will be student tee times. Students play for free, and the cost for alumni and community members is $54 per person. If a nine-hole course isn’t ideal, the driving range will be open for $6.

Allen Street Jam – Wanna jam? On Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, Allen Street will be flooded with performances. Stop by between 3:00-7:00 p.m. to grab a snack, listen to live music and watch the dance competition starting at 6:00 p.m. to see some of the campus dance companies go head-to-head.

Past to Present – Take a trip back in time at Heritage Hall on Oct. 10, 2023. From 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. there will be treats, a chance to win free merchandise and multiple Penn State organizations sharing their history.

BoPS – There will be a carnival on the HUB Lawn from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Oct. 11, 2023. Swing by and visit the carnival “booths” hosted by student organizations. Creamery ice cream, popcorn and cotton candy will be available. There will be inflatables, characters and stuff-a-plush for students to enjoy.

Homecoming/Opulence Drag Show – After the carnival, head to The Basement to see Opulence, Penn State’s premiere drag ambassador group. Performances will be starting at 8:00 p.m. on Oct. 11, 2023.

Pride in Our Community Pep Rally – Show off that school spirit and come by the HUB Stairs for the pep rally put on by the Paul Robeson Cultural Center. The pep rally will occur on Oct. 12, 2023, between 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Alumni Ice Cream Social – Welcome home returning alumni and members of the Penn State community! Enjoy ice cream from the Berkey Creamery at the Hintz Alumni Center on Oct. 13, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.. There will be Alumni Blue Band performances as well as a cash-only sale of Homecoming merchandise.

Parade – Camp out to get a good spot for this year’s parade: “Illuminate the Lion Within.” The parade is one of the oldest homecoming traditions and will occur on Oct. 13, 2023, starting at 6:00 p.m. Look out for friends and family that might be representing different organizations, and of course grab some candy.

Guard the Lion Shrine – Immediately following the parade is Guard the Lion Shrine. The tradition originated after Syracuse fans painted the Lion Shrine during homecoming weekend, 1966. This Penn State classic will occur on Oct. 13, 2023 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Enjoy free food, games, activities and performances!
