This class is the nastiest skank bitch I have ever been enrolled in. Do not trust it!
This is a thought we’ve all had, especially toward the end of the semester, when we’re so close yet so far from the finish line. Academic burnout hits hard, so today, VALLEY is making its very own Burn Book, inspired by “Mean Girls,” and we’re going to take our anger out on all the different aspects of burnout.

Exhaustion
Apparently, toward the end of the semester, when there are assignments piling up and four finals to study for, sleep is for the weak. You’re drained, and while studying, you end up just sitting and staring at your computer, unable to read or comprehend anything.
Exhaustion is a freak — it’s always following me and stealing my energy drinks. How embarrassing.

Stress
You’ve got two exams tomorrow and one the day after. Not only do you have all of this studying to do, but you still have to go to your other classes, complete those assignments, go grocery shopping, go to work and pack for break. It feels like the stress will never end — everything just keeps piling up, to which we say:
Stress is just a wannabe who’s decided to invade and corrupt our lives! Do NOT trust it!

Self-Doubt
All of this stress is causing you to believe you can’t accomplish anything. You start to feel like you’re not good enough and you’re going to fail every exam and maybe, in the end, all of your classes.
All self-doubt does is ruin the vibe. It’s always lying and makes you believe things that aren’t true … yuck.

Irritability
All of these things piling up on top of one another — exhaustion, stress and self-doubt — cause mood swings. One second you’re laughing it up with your roommate, and the next you’re crying to them because you have so much to do.
Irritability is all over the place — it can’t make up its mind and is constantly changing its opinion. How can you trust that?

Lack Of Motivation
You’ve got all of these things to do and yet not a single ounce of motivation to do them. At this point, you’re proud of yourself for simply getting out of bed and brushing your hair.
Honestly, there’s not much to say about motivation — it never gives much to us, so why should we waste our breath and ink on it?
Sincerely,
VALLEY.
