As the spring semester comes to a close many Penn Staters are filled with complex emotions. Sadness, anxiousness, lingering anticipation, eagerness. All normal feelings associated with this next period of students’ lives remind us that the end of the semester simply means it’s time to move on. And what better way to move on than Penn State’s 48th annual Movin’ On Festival!
Movin’ On is one of the most anticipated Penn State events of the year. The annual event is intended as a free celebration to wish off all graduating students as they start “movin’ on.” The music event is brought by a collaboration of student organizations such as ARHS, SPA and UPUA.
Movin’ On will be on April 28 at the IM Fields—gates will open at 3:30 p.m. The 48th annual festival will be headlined by J.I.D, COIN, Neon Trees, UPSAHL and Mellow Honey.
J.I.D
J.I.D is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. He is signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville Records and Interscope Records. He is a part of the music collective Spillage Village and is a member of the hip-hop supergroup Zoink Gang. J.I.D has worked with iconic artists such as J.Cole, Mac Miller, Imagine Dragons, Doja Cat, Metro Boomin, 21 Savage, Baby Tate and more!

COIN
COIN is a pop-rock alternative band from Nashville, Tennessee. The band is made up by Chase Lawrence (lead vocals, synthesizers), Ryan Winnen (drums), and Joe Memmel (lead guitar, backing vocals). After releasing their first two EP’s “Saturdays” (2012) and “1992” (2013), the band gained mainstream attention with their single “Run” and “Talk Too Much,” which was their first single to chart on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart.
Fun Fact: The founding members of the band met in music theory class as students at Belmont University.

Neon Trees
Neon Trees is a pop rock band from Provo, Utah. Currently, the band is made up of Tyler Glenn, Chris Allen, Branden Campbell and Elaine Bradley. Not long after they opened for the band The Killers back in 2008, they were signed by Mercury Records. Their first single “Animal” reached No.13 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and No.1 on the Alternative Songs chart. Neon Trees has opened for artists such as My Chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco, Duran Duran, Maroon 5 and more.

UPSAHL
UPSAHL is an indie alternative-pop singer-songwriter from Phoenix, Arizona. She released her first self-titled EP at the age of 14 and self-wrote and produced her debut album in 2015. She signed with Arista Records in 2018 after becoming a local favorite for national touring acts in Phoenix. She has opened for artists such as Yungblud and Olivia O’Brien.

Mellow Honey
Mellow Honey is a psychedelic-indie rock band formed by Penn State students Rob Borysiewicz, Martin Borysiewicz and Dillon Holzheimer. The members met at The Bicycle Shop on West College Avenue. The band earned their spot headlining for the Movin’ On Festival after going up against other local student artists in competition for the artist slot. Mellow Honey recently released their debut album “Sentimental by Design” in 2022. They have performed at local venues such as Cafe 210 West, 3 Dots Downtown, and several houses across State College. Congrats to Mellow Honey!
