Penn State’s latest and hottest club will have you sweating for all of the right reasons. Opened in 2024, Vitality Wellness Club was founded by two Olympic-medalist-wrestlers: Kyle Take and David Taylor. Vitality is more than just a gym. Although the building features an array of spin classes, the goal is overall wellness for both the mind and body. It is easy to see from the wide array of high-tech holistic tools that Vitality is focused on recharging the entire body, so anyone from college students to professional athletes can feel like their best selves.
This week, VALLEY got to sweat, relax, recover and more all at Vitality. Let us take you through our time at Vitality, and give a breakdown of just a few of the things that they offer.

Spin Me Right Round
Vitality is equipped with 15 innovative cycle bikes and host multiple 45-minute spin classes every day. VALLEY had the opportunity to attend this past Thursday night’s class which came with a theme: Latin Pop. Alex, one of Vitality’s cycle instructors took us through 45 minutes of a high intensity, full body workout. The themed ride came with A LOT of Bad Bunny and Pitbull (and we’re not complaining). Other class themes include Disney throwbacks, Taylor Swift, EDM and even a Live DJ ride.
We host both rhythmic and power-cycle classes which offer a unique and engaging fitness experience with expert instructors.
The class was full of fun, energy, motivational music and of course a lot of sweat.
Sweat It Out
After a hot and heavy cycle sesh, VALLEY continued to get our sweat on with a quick trip to the sauna. Vitality explains that relaxing in a sauna can “decrease inflammation, promote natural detoxification and improve your skin health.” They recommend a 30 minute session (with beginners starting at 15 minutes) where you can relax and socialize with friends or just recharge and recover by yourself. Don’t forget to keep hydrating before, during and after your sauna visit!

The sauna’s warm and wooden atmosphere make it a perfect place to relax and sweat out any toxins (or hangover) that your body’s hanging on to.
Hot N’ Cold
After all of that sweating, it was time to switch things up a bit. Post sauna, VALLEY decided to hit the cold plunge baths which are conveniently located right next to the custom-built sauna. Vitality has two cold plugs baths that can help with recovering and restoring. Even just a 3 minute plunge can have huge benefits to your health. Similar to the sauna, cold-plunging can reduce inflammation, improve circulation and improve mental alertness.
Vitality recommends a cold plunge session anywhere from one to ten minutes but it’s really up to your cold tolerance. The baths usually range from 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit but sometimes Vitality will hold a 6-minute challenge: whoever can survive a 39 degrees or colder cold plunge for 6 minutes wins a free t-shirt.
Maybe 50-60 degrees doesn’t sound that cold, but VALLEY can assure you that it feels freezing. Spending just a few minutes in the tubs left us alert, awake and ready to take on whatever we had left in the day.
Red (Vitality’s Version)

To end our stay at Vitality, VALLEY got a chance to relax and unwind with some much needed red light therapy. This type of therapy, which is offered in 15 minutes sessions, focuses on using the red light and near-infrared light to “power your cells.” Most notably red light therapy is known to improve the skin and can also possibly improve hair growth, reduce pain and improve mood.
Make sure to come down and book all of your wellness session at Vitality Wellness Club! They offer individual services as well as monthly memberships.
What wellness services will you be booking in preparation for finals week? Let us know @VALLEYmag on X!
