While the headliner of Zara Larsson at this year’s 2026 Movin’ On concert is enough to live a “Lush Life,” the announcement of Slayyyter to also perform alongside Larsson is making everyone feel like the “worst girl” in State College. The concert will be held at the IM Fields on May 1, featuring performances by more artists like The Dare and That Mexican OT.
Fresh off of the release of her third studio album, “WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA,” Slayyyter borrows the money sign motif from Kesha, divulging into a hard electronic dance-pop sound that characterizes the era and sets it apart from anything audiences have heard her do before.
With an aesthetic background of the deserted American West, era-defining staples like fringe, faux fur, bedazzled everything, Mother Mary imagery, cigarettes, cowgirl boots, bunny ears and stripper heels add a layer of playful grime to her usual glamour.
Stand out singles like “CRANK” and “BEAT UP CHANEL$” become instant classics upon the first listen.

Slayyyter’s rise to the top this year might seem like it came out of nowhere, but her self-titled mixtape was released in 2019, with “Troubled Paradise” and “Starfucker” following suit in 2021 and 2023, respectively.
During the infamous mixtape era, if Ayesha Erotica was the queen of the McBling Y2K pop music craze of the late 2010s, then Slayyyter was the princess. Working with Erotica as the main producer (under the stealthy moniker of “Ms. Cheeseburger”) of the mixtape, Slayyyter uses Erotica’s demos in songs like “Alone” and “Hello Kitty” to mark early pillars of her career. You just had to be there.
Sleeper Hits
You might have heard a Slayyyter song in the past without even realizing it. Upon its release on Valentine’s Day in 2019, “Mine” from her self-titled mixtape went viral on Twitter for its upbeat synths and bratty lyrics. “Daddy AF,” another one of her magnum opus pieces of work, was recently featured in the Oscar winning 2024 film “Anora” when the titular character arrives at the strip club.
