You know what time of the year it is; the time to pack up your apartment and say goodbye to your friends, finish up your classes and make summer plans. For seniors, however, the end of the school year feels much more dramatic than ever before. For those graduating, many of these goodbyes are final.
The last month has been a whirlwind. While VALLEY knows graduation is on the mind of all those moving on to the next chapter, it is important to prepare for your post-graduation life.
For many, this means getting a job or an internship; the pressure of the “real world” falling into place as we look towards adulthood. However, it is just as important to continue to do the things you love outside of work.

As you move forward into your next chapter, ask yourself: What are you actually looking forward to after graduation?
While the new paycheck will be more than nice (and well deserved, you college graduate!) it is important to feed your soul as well as your bank account. What hobbies are you planning to continue after graduation that will make your life full?
If you love to workout, are you planning on joining a running group close to home or joining an adult intramural league with some friends? For those who love to travel, you could make a goal to visit one new place a year! Maybe you are looking forward to trying something new, like taking a sewing class or pottery!
While we worked hard to earn our college degrees, this is not the only thing we have in our wheelhouses. It is important to continue to feed your passions, whether it’s hanging out with friends or family, working out, singing or dancing and anything else you truly love.

Post-Grad Hobbies
Having hobbies can make the transition into adulthood much less scary. While they say these are the best times in a young person’s life, it is important to not let the rest of your life go to waste.
Enjoy these next few years, and take every opportunity to learn and grow. While post-graduation can be scary, this is a time in our lives to grow and explore and experience.
