Prior to the launch of Alix Earle’s skincare brand, the influencer has been very transparent about her personal struggle with acne. In the past, she has vocalized her frustration due to consistent breakouts. Through her time on social media, Earle has documented her journey from severe acne to acne-free skin. In addition, she has dedicated herself to creating a safe environment to talk about acne and normalize skin imperfections.

However, in order to achieve the acne-free skin she was seeking, Earle shared with viewers how Accutane was the only solution to her problem. In a post on TikTok on October 22, 2023, Earle stated:

Been on accutane 3 times. Everytime I stop taking it my skin reverts back to its old ways.

@alixearle

My skin is even that bad rn but ik how easy it is to slip into that mindset of hating yourself bc of your skin 🫶🏼 just a reminder to be patient and love yourself

Though many are grateful for her openness, it is leaving some people skeptical of her new skincare brand. There are questions from viewers who are hesitant to take skincare advice from a person who has been on Accutane numerous times.

Furthermore, the skincare market has recently become heavily oversaturated. Therefore, many believe the products are a “money grab” or rather do not fit Earle’s personal brand at all.

On the other hand, others believe her experience with Accutane and ongoing skincare journey make her a qualified candidate to make a skincare brand.

my thoughts on reale actives — Alix is known for her acne journey and so it’s obvious this launch is personal for her. I think it would be really disingenuous for her to put her name behind a skincare brand that she didn’t personally see results with and stand behind, especially given her audience. that’s not the case here not to mention: a board-certified dermatologist helped with the product formulation, they’ve been testing the products out for over a year, and I’ve been a part of their 8-week long testing group! and of course, remember that everyone’s skin is different so what works for someone else may not work for you. consult your dermatologists 🙂 @Alix Earle @reale actives #alixearle #realeactives #fyp

During the process of formulating her skincare brand, Earle worked closely with her dermatologist, Dr. Kiran Mian. Together, they merged Earle’s vision of creating a skincare line tailored to blemish-prone and sensitive skin that was fun and innovative with Dr. Mian’s clinical expertise.

Dr. Mian, who was named the Director of Clinical Innovation and Dermatologist, utilized her experience to help make products that were safe for acne-prone skin, built for breakouts and had effective ingredients.

This project was not rushed, but carefully crafted for the best results. In a post on the ‘reale actives’ Instagram account, the caption states:

“Dr. Mian and Earle spent countless hours testing, reformulating and refining every product until it met a new standard for acne prone skin.”

Since Mar. 31, Earle has launched four skincare products. The various products include her “Get Bare” makeup melting cleansing balm, “Pore Power” Exfoliating LHA + BHA Gel Cleanser, “Go Deep” 8% Mandelic Acid Serum Concentrate and “Dew More” Barrier-Boosting Moisturizer.

Her brand has been tremendously successful in a short amount of time. Following her products going live, they have all sold out. Now, potential consumers must join a waitlist and wait for a product restock.

Alix Earle is the embodiment of taking your dream and making it a reality.
