On March 18, Penn State students can trade in their usual weeknight routine for a night of laughter. Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA) is hosting comedian, writer and “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost at the Bryce Jordan Center. Bringing Jost’s wit and signature observational humor to the stage, the event offers students and community members a chance to see one of television’s most recognizable comedy writers perform live.

Colin Jost
Jost is known best as the co-anchor of the “Weekend Update” segment on “Saturday Night Live,” where he has become a familiar face delivering punchlines about everything from politics to pop culture. A longtime member of the show, Jost first joined the “Saturday Night Live” writing staff in 2005 and eventually rose to become one of the show’s head writers.
Beyond the “Weekend Update” desk, Jost has built an extensive career in comedy. A Harvard University graduate, he began writing humor at a young age and served as president of the Harvard Lampoon, one of the country’s most famous collegiate humor publications. His writing background shines in his stand-up, which tends to emphasize clever wordplay and a dry sense of humor.
In recent years, Jost has also expanded his career outside of “Saturday Night Live.” His 2020 memoir, “A Very Punchable Face,” became a New York Times bestseller and gave readers an inside look at his path from Staten Island to the writers’ room of one of television’s most iconic shows. The book blends personal stories with the same dry humor fans see in his stand-up and on-screen appearances.

What To Expect
For audiences attending the Bryce Jordan Center show, the night will likely feel different from Jost’s quick-fire TV segments. In a live stand-up setting, comedians often take more time to develop stories and connect with the live audience. Fans can expect a mix of personal anecdotes, cultural commentary and observations about everyday life.
There is also a good chance the show will include a few topical jokes or references to recent headlines. As someone who spends much of his career writing about current events, Jost has a talent for turning the week’s news into relatable humor.
While his TV persona can sometimes feel polished and scripted, live performances allow him to loosen up and interact more directly with the crowd. Whether you’re a longtime “Saturday Night Live” fan or just looking for a fun night out with friends, Jost’s performance promises an evening of quick wit and clever humor.

I don?t know if finest practices have emerged around issues like that, but I’m certain that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls really feel the impact of only a second’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

Together with every little thing that seems to be developing inside this particular subject matter, your perspectives are actually fairly refreshing. Even so, I am sorry, but I can not subscribe to your whole theory, all be it exciting none the less. It would seem to us that your remarks are actually not entirely justified and in fact you are your self not really completely certain of your point. In any event I did appreciate examining it.
