From Britney Spears’ 55-hour marriage to Kim Kardashian getting cold feet after 72 days, celebrities are known for their short-lived marriages. Hollywood’s most recent heartbreak was Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. The couple dated on and off for over 10 years and seemed to be deeply in love, but when they finally tied the knot, their marriage didn’t even last a year. So what is it about celebrity marriages that makes the divorce rate so high?

Media Scrutiny
Being in the public eye could be to blame. Having traditional media on your tail as well as hundreds of thousands of people criticizing your relationship on social media every day could take a toll on your marriage. It can prove to be very stressful trying to deal with everyday issues in a relationship when every little blip could end up as a front page story if the paparazzi catch you.
Unfriendly Competition

For celebrity couples who work in the same or even just similar industries, competition could also take a toll on a marriage. After her public breakup with Ryan Reynolds following two years of marriage, Scarlett Johansson told Cosmopolitan that she thinks competition could be to blame for her divorce.
“The logistics of being with another actor are challenging. There has to be a real understanding of how you share your time, especially when two people’s careers are going at the same rate,” Johansson told the magazine. “Or even if one person is more successful than the other, that also proves challenging. There may be a competitive thing.”
Distance Doesn’t Always Make the Heart Grow Fonder
Celebrities are very busy, which can make it hard to see their partner at times. Relationships require time and communication, both of which are very hard to dedicate to another person when you barely have any time to yourself.
Actors, actresses, singers and models all need to travel a lot to keep up with the press for their latest endeavors. It’s very hard to travel to a different city every day and be able to spend time with your partner. It’s even harder to spend time together if your partner is equally as famous and is just as busy with a schedule that’s totally opposite to yours.
Trading in for a Newer Model

An article from Psychology Today blames the high divorce rate on the Hollywood environment. The article pointed out that there’s always a new generation of younger and younger starlets in Hollywood, while actors’ and actresses’ partners can only get older. Looking into evolutionary psychology, it only makes sense for celebs to want the new and best partners, leading to a tumultuous cycle of marriages and divorces.
Fast and Furious
A lot of Hollywood couples tend to get married way too fast. This could be because of the fast-paced lifestyle that Hollywood forces onto them. It’s not uncommon for famous couples to get married less than a year after they started dating, which would definitely put them at a higher risk of divorce compared to people who date for years before they decide to get married.

Generally I do not learn post on blogs, but I would like to say that this write-up very pressured me to try and do so! Your writing taste has been amazed me. Thanks, very nice post.
Awesome site you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any community forums that cover the same topics talked about here? I’d really like to be a part of community where I can get comments from other knowledgeable people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Thanks!
Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all. However imagine if you added some great photos or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this site could definitely be one of the best in its field. Amazing blog!
Thanks for some other excellent post. The place else may just anyone get that type of info in such a perfect method of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I’m at the look for such info.
Good info. Lucky me I reach on your website by accident, I bookmarked it.
Hey, you used to write great, but the last several posts have been kinda boring… I miss your tremendous writings. Past few posts are just a bit out of track! come on!
Thank you for sharing with us, I believe this website truly stands out :D.
When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Cheers!
Hi, Neat post. There is a problem with your website in internet explorer, would check this… IE still is the market leader and a good portion of people will miss your magnificent writing due to this problem.
I was just looking for this information for a while. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your web site. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this kind of informative web sites in top of the list. Generally the top sites are full of garbage.
