Her widespread influence paved the way for polka dots to make their vibrant comeback.
Fashion houses such as Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent began including polka dots in their spring/summer collections, and these unique pieces started appearing on runways everywhere. The new looks put a twist on the classic design and experimented with different patterns and textures, breaking the boundaries of fashion. Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
