When I see an older couple holding hands, or passionately gazing into the other’s eyes, my heart cannot resist but to melt. The romance is there and it’s more alive than ever before. For our generation, however, the majority of us consider romance to be dead.

The fact is: no guy at a party wants to get to know you. He wants to get all up on you. We need a man who will listen, and who wants to actually get to know us. So where do we find this man? Classes.

Going to Penn State means that we have the world at our fingertips, and not in the metaphorical sense. Friday and Saturday, Penn State’s very own Songwriter’s Club (SWC) put on an incredible two-night show with 100% of the proceeds going towards THON! For just $5, the audience could see some of the most talented musicians Penn State has to offer play in an intimate setting.

With over 40,000 students at Penn State, when class lets out. campus suddenly gets crowded…and fast. For your sake (and the sake of others), keep these dos and don’ts in mind while you’re strolling around on this beautiful campus at peak crowd times.

Yes, we did just quote “Blue’s Clues”. It may be a silly song from the past, but it’s exactly how most of the dancers feel when Mail Call comes around THON weekend.

As any young child would do, many of us used to laugh and make fun of our grandparents when they would tell us that their walk to school was uphill both ways. How could that even be possible?

Well, I’m sure most of you have already kicked yourselves for thinking that. When it comes to Penn State’s campus there is no such thing as “flat ground”. Walking to and from class around Happy Valley is indeed uphill both ways and can become quite of a pain in the winter months.

Each semester, Penn State welcomes a new set of transfer students to our campus. Whether they’ve transferred from a commonwealth campus, or an entirely different school, this relived freshmen year experience has its pros and cons.

Perhaps most exciting, with anticipation building around upcoming THON weekend, PSU’s newest fitness class, THON Prep, is designed to help prepare volunteers’ bodies for the 46 hour stand against pediatric cancer.

Dating here is casual — as in any college setting. Our social scene just doesn’t nurture romance. On-the-dance-floor make-outs and party hopping all night doesn’t leave much room for heartfelt conversations and fairytale beginnings.

Oh, the Holiday season.

The time when, after everyone is done freaking out about finals, students pack up and head home for a well deserved break. While some have to drive (or fly) for hours on end, a select group of students only have to endure about a 10-minute commute home.

Goo Goo Cluster; sounds like a cereal for babies, right? What about Happy Happy Joy Joy… or some Arboretum Breeze? Are those air fresheners?
