Treat Yourself To The Sweet Treat

While you’re having a long, rough day, all you need is a sweet treat to lighten the day. At college, you’re juggling classwork on top of finding an internship for the summer and comparing yourself to everyone else. The days seem everlasting, and the only thing that will get you through it is that sweet treat post-dinner.

Getting lunch with your friends is a fun activity that is a way for you all to spend quality time together. The sweet treat is a post-meal snack that will lift everyone’s moods instantly. Even if you didn’t eat dinner together, you can text each other and go on a sweet treat date. It’ll be a fun way to catch up and gossip while eating your favorite treats.

You don’t even need to go that far, there are plenty of sweet treats that could be enjoyed in the comfort of your home with your roommates. As long as you are able to spend time with each other and potentially share something you love with each other is all that really matters.

Give Yourself Permission

You don’t need a special occasion to enjoy dessert. You don’t need to “earn” it with a workout or wait until the weekend. Life is hard enough, so treating yourself doesn’t need to come with rules. Sometimes it’s just about doing something nice for yourself because you can. Go get that deliciously warm cookie from the West dining hall. You deserve good things, even on a random Tuesday.

Eating a sweet treat is supposed to feel rewarding. Allowing yourself to feel happy and worthy of your favorite snack is an amazing way of self-love. In a world where we are all so focused on our health, but its important to note that eating a piece of chocolate isn’t going to hurt your progress. Everything in life is about balance, even allowing yourself to eat something you will greatly enjoy.

With everything going on like deadlines, exams, roommate drama etc; it’s easy to forget to slow down. That first bite of your sweet treat can be your moment to pause, stop scrolling and real yourself back into the present moment. Besides, when you allow yourself to have a sweet treat, you are releasing endorphins and therefore boosting your mood. The next time you are worried about the calories, flip the script and be grateful that you did something for yourself.
