The time has come where the seniors of VALLEY to write for the very last time before stepping into the real world. VALLEY is an outlet of authentic, creative and inspiring ideas of the Penn State community. Our goal is to voice love for culture and style on campus, hoping to leave a footprint of guidance. While all great things must come to an end, this is the love letter to VALLEY.
Fashion

If there’s one thing VALLEY knows how to do best, it’s celebrating fashion in all forms. Styling pieces from beloved brands or thrift spots has created a runway in State College. Whether it is picking the perfect attire for a gameday or a VALLEY launch party, fashion is a silhouette of identity and culture. We’ve learned that fashion is not about following trends, but about making bold statements. It’s about owning who you are, out loud and unapologetically.
The voice of VALLEY has consistently shown us how to embrace fearless fashion — mixing textures, experimenting with color, and curating wardrobes that reflect the energy of the moment. VALLEY has shown how to live loudly in bold fashion. With a rotating closet of roommates, fashion has been a pillar of womanhood in State College. VALLEY writers have taught us how fashion embodies self-expression, history and culture. Fashion isn’t just worn here but lived! Fashion will continue to be a thread in the fabric of State College.
Self-Improvement

No student is perfect. We make mistakes, overthink, and sometimes we let fear keep us from taking the first step forward. College isn’t only a place to pursue a degree, but a platform to learn more about ourselves. There are moments when we feel lost or unsure of ourselves and State College allows us to navigate our shared experiences. VALLEY has shown the importance of self-care is essential, which allows you to take care of those around you, too.
From dealing with awkward roommate interactions to college situationships, or learning how to prioritize self-care in chaos, VALLEY shows up! Our lived experiences have funneled onto the pages of our issues to serve as a reminder that you’re never alone. There’s nothing more comforting than reading a story that mirrors your exact situation or hearing advice that feels like it was written for you. VALLEY gives voice to the unspoken and validates the experiences so many of us share, even when we don’t always talk about them out loud.
Beauty and Health

VALLEY beauty and health, you will be missed! Over the years, this section has redefined beauty. It has become more than a collection of tips and product recommendations, but a space for real conversations about what beauty and wellness really mean. VALLEY has reminded us time and time again that beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s personal, ever-evolving and entirely our own. Beauty is everywhere in the small moments in State College.
It’s the skincare and makeup products that have become stuffed into your stained makeup bag. In the cold remedy, you’ve perfected from the frequent sickness that plagues State College winters. The echo of your laughter from being with your best friends. The hangover cure you’ve blended after a night out and the long walk across campus to clear your head.
Beauty and health are not meant to create a 180 of your being. It doesn’t have to be perfection through clean eating or expensive products, but habits in your routine that make you feel good in your own skin. VALLEY has been the backbone of experimentation, a foundation where we can reimagine confidence through wellness that makes us feel empowered. This VALLEY writer will be returning to read the pages of beauty and health often!
Entertainment

Entertainment has opened the door to the vibrant world of pop culture and storytelling within State College. VALLEY launched its very own podcast, “Voice of VALLEY.” Full of recounting campus confessions, reliving eventful trips and a dive into the written words of VALLEY contributors. Entertainment has captured the pulse of campus life through relishing nights with our favorite bar bands, up-and-coming DJs and the buzz of blockbuster movies.
In our small corner of the world, we’ve had front row seats to icons we never imagined would be in State College. From world-renowned athletes, movie stars, songwriters and drag performers. It is an example that the vibrant community of Penn State will always be worth traveling miles for. These lived experiences have become a part of our lives by providing moments that we’ll cherish forever. There will never be a dull moment in Happy Valley and the VALLEY community will always be there to capture the moment.
This Just In

It’s no surprise that during our time at Penn State, we’ve witnessed and lived through some monumental moments – both on campus and in the world beyond. In an ever-evolving world filled with shifting headlines, social movements, cultural milestones and historical events, This Just In has remained a steady voice within VALLEY, offering sharp insight, fresh perspectives and thoughtful commentary on the world as it changes around us. It is a responsibility that every member of the VALLEY team brings to this community. It’s not just a space that reports, but shows that staying informed is about seeking understanding, asking questions and engaging in the world with both heart and intellect.
Throughout each issue, This Just In has covered topics that range from global affairs to campus conversations, always with the goal of connecting the broader world to the lived experiences of Penn State students. In doing so, it has helped us see how the events unfolding on a world stage trickle down to impact our everyday lives — from the policies that shape our futures to the cultural shifts that redefine our generation. This Just In stands as a pillar in the timeline of VALLEY — a constant reminder of our commitment not only to storytelling but to truth-telling. And while the world continues to change, VALLEY will never stop continuing to learn and educate as we push to be curious.
Campus Culture

Campus Culture is every person and experience that makes Penn State a community. It is traditions and people that transform a campus into a true community. It’s the late-night chats with your best friends in your dorm room or apartment, the spirited chants in Beaver Stadium, the club meetings that turn into lifelong friendships and the quiet moments of growth between classes. Over the course of four years, every minute you spend here is uniquely yours to shape — a blank canvas filled with possibility, self-discovery and purpose. These moments collectively define the college experience
They say “the people make the place,” and that couldn’t be more true at Penn State. From the very first day you move into your freshman dorm — nervous, wide-eyed, and unsure of what’s to come — you’re met with a world of opportunities waiting for you to step in. It’s intimidating, yes, but also empowering. Because the magic of Penn State isn’t in the buildings or the bricks — it’s in the people. And VALLEY is proud to be a reflection of that magic. All the experiences you collect — every friendship, every failure, every victory — become the momentum you carry with you into the next chapter of life beyond State College. Thank you, VALLEY and Penn State for being a home to all.
Love, the VALLEY seniors
