We’re college students– and money doesn’t grow on trees. This used to mean cutting down on your clothing purchases, but no more! There are tons of fun, stylish and cheap treasures waiting to be found at thrift stores. Each week, Daphne Weidner will take you on a thrifty journey to prove that being tight on money does not mean sacrificing style. Let’s get thrifty.
The weather is finally getting quite chilly! We’re in the midst of a beautiful fall season, commonly referred to as “sweater weather.” I’m a huge fan of this time of year, because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love cozying up on the couch in a chunky sweater with a cup of hot chocolate or a pumpkin spice latte?
My personal belief is that you can never have too many sweaters. If you agree with me, there’s a good chance you’ll be broke by the end of the season. That’s why Goodwill is a safe haven for all sweater-loving, money-saving, autumn fashion enthusiasts.
Cold weather getting you down? Fight the fall blues, by wearing them! Goodwill is bursting with an array of cozy, blue-toned sweaters. Fall is commonly associated with neutral colors, but doesn’t that get a little boring? Have fun with your autumn wardrobe by breaking the monotony with some brilliant blue colors.
Still committed to the neutral fall trend? No worries, Goodwill holds about every color of sweater you could imagine, so you’ll have no problem tracking down the pinks, browns and grays.
For the more adventurous sweater fan, try on some of Goodwill’s infamous sweaters that are covered in weird patterns and interesting textures. From buttons to beads, the thrift store will satisfy your craving for a sweater that really makes a statement. If anything, you could save it for the fast-approaching “Ugly Sweater” Christmas themed-parties.
