Let’s face it – what you wore in middle school mattered. You just weren’t considered cool if your clothes weren’t from an acceptably cool store. Stores that you are now embarrassed to admit you ever shopped at. Here’s a throwback Thursday shout-out to the clothing stores of our awkward youth.

You’ve finally survived Thanksgiving, complete with its amazing dinner and awkward family interactions. Now you have something extraordinary to look forward to – Christmas time.

As I sat down to write this article, I was instantly shocked that I hadn’t thought of it earlier. Not only was Friends one of the longest running sitcoms, but it was also a personal favorite show of mine.

‘Fess up: at some point, you may have skimmed that novel you were supposed to read for your literature class or in high school, but you probably decided to do a Netflix marathon instead.

Their (beautiful, gorgeous, dreamy, angelic) faces were the first to grace our bedroom walls. They were our first crushes. They convinced us that cooties were nothing more than speechlessness at their perfection.

For many of us, AOL Instant Messenger was the first way we were able to really communicate with our friends outside of school. When obtaining a cell phone was still just a dream, our desktop computers were there to fill the void.

In a world where favorites and retweets line the path to self-validation, we must ask ourselves the (new) age-old question: If you didn’t get double digits amounts of likes on your instagram photo, did you even instagram at all?

Our throwback this week is dedicated to the glammest gal we’ve ever known: Barbie. Along with her shiny blonde hair, long tan legs and super hot boyfriend, she had a dreamy house, her own private jet and multiple sports cars.

If you remember answering surveys that asked incredibly deep questions such as… “What does the last text in your inbox say?”, “Would you date someone if they asked you right now?”, “Eyes or Smile?”…then you remember Facebook Notes.

How lucky are we that our throwback for this week falls on everyone’s favorite holiday, Halloween? For us college kids, Halloween is an weekend-long event during which we get to dress up in costumes, go out with friends and hopefully capture a profile picture to last at least the next month.

Who knew Shakespeare could be so…ghetto? Funk It Up About Nothin’, a “hip-hoptation” of William Shakespeare’s rom-com Much Ado About Nothing, opened Wednesday night to a sold-out audience at Levels Nightclub.

This week’s TBT goes out to the original Facebook. MySpace was the social media of 7th grade, the place to see who your ex’s Top 8 friends were and the reason our GPA’s went downhill after 6th grade.

As winter quickly approaches and temperatures continue to drop, many people find themselves caught inside, wondering what to do. On those chilly fall days grab a blanket, some hot chocolate and cozy up with a good fashion book.

Orange County was an enchanting world of nice cars, spoiled teenagers and adults who acted like their spoiled teenagers. Sounds enticing, we know. This TBT goes out to our four best friends and the joy they brought us for four seasons.

You’re probably wondering how Mean Girls qualifies as a Throwback. You may be thinking, “I just stayed in last Wednesday night and watched the DVD I got as a present a last year for my birthday.”

In middle school, nothing was more exciting than purchasing and opening a fresh pack of Milky Way Gel Pens – except, maybe, showing them off to our friends.

It’s been a few weeks into the semester, and while we at Valley hope you’re getting along with your roommate(s), there’s always those weird ones that don’t shower or the overly scholastic ones that stay up all night studying the history of life and never let you sleep.
