Earlier this week, I saw a TikTok about how we all need to start dressing according to our rising sign. I was instantly intrigued, mostly because I have no idea what that means, let alone what my rising sign would be. As the video progressed, I dove deeper into my thoughts and came to the realization that the only thing I know about zodiac signs is the fact that I am a Libra. That’s it. Please don’t ask me what my boyfriend’s sign is, or even what being a Libra entails. The only answer I’d give is an awkward laugh and a prolonged “uhh.” These thoughts prompted this article and my newfound motivation to learn more about zodiac signs. However, this piece is simply my starting point, and I plan to dump my analysis on what each zodiac sign is about based purely on the vibe and feeling I get when I read the name and month it’s related to.
I am warning you now, if you take zodiac signs really seriously (which I am on track to do as well), and would not appreciate a completely false examination based on zero knowledge or research, then I would suggest checking out a different article — we have a wide variety of excellent (fact-based) pieces.
For those who are still reading and in for a purely entertainment-based piece … here goes nothing!
Admittedly, I have a split screen telling me each sign while writing this, so what comes up as the first zodiac sign is an Aries! I’ve always liked that word.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
An Aries is a go-getter. They were born just as Spring was starting, and their personality seriously reflects that. An Aries is always looking for an excuse to start again, whether that be a Monday morning or the start of a new season; they take their rebrands seriously and always seem to have their life in order. They move through the day ready for anything, and a little rain on their parade never stopped them. A positive, extroverted personality with an eagerness to be ahead is the exact person I picture as an Aries.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
A Taurus will have your back no matter how wrong you may be in a situation. You find yourself yelling at a frat guy? Your Taurus friend sensed it from the other side of the house and is joining you in a matter of seconds. Need them asap? They’re running a five-minute mile to get to you if they have to. People love being around Taurus because they acknowledge everyone in the room and can read you before you even say a word. They’re who you want to be, but would never have the courage to.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Oh, they’re real gems. Sorry, it’s the first thing that came to mind. I’ve always been jealous of people with summer birthdays, and Geminis have the best set of summer birthdays (in my humble opinion). Gemini’s are like those little angels holding trumpets in the corners of wedding invitations. They are just so precious and become someone you didn’t know you needed until they are in your life. This term gets thrown around a lot, but Gemini’s truly light up a room.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
I am picturing someone who is the definition of summer. Their eyes light up the second they see you, their smile beams across the room, and they embrace you with the most genuine touch. You didn’t realize you could get happier until you leave them, and your mood is fully uplifted. A Cancer’s days are full of adventure and movement. They think of every day as a new opportunity to make someone smile.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
A Leo holds more confidence than all the signs combined (naturally, I’m exaggerating). They know how to have a good time and bask in all the attention they receive from it, which I don’t believe is a bad thing. Like savoring the end of summer, Leos savor moments spent with others and are hyper aware of temporality. They live for the idea that nothing lasts forever, so they live in the present as best as they can.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
I’ve now realized that my boyfriend is a Virgo, and as a result, this examination might turn out a bit biased. Nonetheless, Virgo’s are amazing! They have a sense of knowing what you need without you having to tell them. With an analytical mind, nothing is decided without weighing the options or gaining additional insight (they would definitely do research before writing this piece). Everyone needs a Virgo in their lives. They love with their whole heart and will stick with you through anything. I don’t think that was too biased, right?
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Ah, the moment we’ve all been waiting for — the best sign by far! Kidding kidding, except I will admit, I’ve never met a Libra I haven’t liked. They’re creatively driven and crave artistic outlets throughout their everyday. A Libra is a badass, and that, lovely VALLEY readers, is a fact. They present themselves with confidence and attempt to see the world through various perspectives. They love their people fiercely and will think about you before they think about themselves.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Scorpios are fierce and a force to be reckoned with. Their presence in a room is known, and they like it that way. Social anxiety is terrified of them — they’ll let someone know they rented out the library room they’re in without a second thought. Scorpios know they’re winners, and act like it. We can all learn a lot from them.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Can I just say, I love the vibe that word “Sagittarius” gives off. I can’t even explain it, but it flows off the tongue in the most perfect way … and because of that, I love a Sagittarius. They wear their heart on their sleeve, sharing all their love with anyone and everyone. Their emotions guide their decisions, and it usually works out for them. They have a passion for helping others and pursue that interest every day. You look up to a Sagittarius, wishing you saw the world through the lens of love that they do.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 29)
All I have to say is Capricorns are the life of the party. People gravitate towards Capricorns, but can never explain why. Capricorns know what they want and do exactly what they have to to get it. They operate independently but remain anchored by the ones they love. They’ll reason with you if you’re spiraling and support your every move, even when it doesn’t make any sense. Capricorns lead with drive and execute with love.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Their mind operates on an entirely different level than the rest. They can picture exactly what they want, and work hard to make that a reality. Their minds are creatively driven, often looking at things with a critical eye. An Aquarius is the person you want to end up on the roof with after a party, having the deepest conversation of your life. They think beyond the surface level and often do things out of the ordinary. An Aquarius is a blast to be around and will leave you wanting to see them the next day. They go through life unapologetically themselves.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
A Pisces, although they missed the cutoff date, is exactly what Valentine’s Day should feel like. You can just picture hearts and doves following them everywhere they go. I feel like they always smell amazing, but in an expensive way where you would never ask what perfume they’re wearing. They laugh loudly and smile big, and they always make direct eye contact with you when you talk to them. A Pisces appreciates a hand-written card and keeps anything you’ve ever given them in a shoebox in their closet. All around good vibes from them.
Well, there you go, all 12 zodiac signs examined purely based on the first thoughts that come to my mind. I don’t think I was too off, was I?
