Picture yourself your freshman year of college getting ready to go out. The most revealing tops you can find, your first touch of freedom without your parents making sure you’re wearing something modest, ripped jeans and more. Picture yourself now: probably a very simple top, with straight-legged, simple jeans. What changed? Not just your style, you!
Looking back on your college years, it’s clear to notice that our style changes and mature as we do. You might even start to think your parents were right all those years, telling you there’s no need for all those holes in your jeans and deep cuts in your shirts.

Maturing In Style
For many, leveling up their style to a more mature look has a reason. Maybe you’re newly twenty-one and don’t want to look the part, so you try to dress down to not stand out as much. For others, it may just be growing with time. You might’ve always leaned towards that more conservative look, and now everyone is finally dressing the part with you.
The more mature, less revealing look is what most people feel the bars dress like. The less strappy, revealing tops you can find at Outcast Clothing may sit in the closet for a long time. Until of course, you go to Vegas. However, the more mature style has increased orders from websites that were less popular. WhiteFox Boutique has always been the go-to, but now Peppermayo and Zara have become increasingly popular as we grow older.

Time Passing By
Growing up also means dressing in your own personal style, instead of not wearing something just because your friend said they didn’t like it. It is realizing that not everyone has the same style and it’s okay to like something that someone else doesn’t. If it fits your style and makes you comfortable, then it’s yours!
As juniors and seniors, college has become increasingly more about spending the time that is running low with your friends. This is different from going out specifically to maybe catch the attention of the males in the room. That in itself, is a huge level of change in not only maturity, but it causes you to think you don’t have to dress a certain way just to impress.

Although it may be cringy to look through Snapchat memories of the clothes you used to wear, it’s a telling sign of your maturity and that is a good thing!
