It’s never too early to start thinking about spring break. That’s why VALLEY has curated the perfect list of spring break fashion essentials. Whether you’re bringing on the heat in Florida, going to a winter cabin in the Midwest or relaxing at home, we’ve got you covered with what you’ll need to pack to create the best outfit.

Warm Destinations

If you’re headed somewhere warm over spring break, don’t forget to pack these essentials.

Clothing:

  • Sundresses
  • Shorts
  • Light jackets
  • Swimwear

Accessories:

  • Sunglasses
  • Statement earrings
  • Beaded bracelets and necklaces
  • Tote bags

Makeup/Skincare:

  • Sunscreen
  • Lip balm
  • Mascara
  • Blush and Bronzer

Especially if you’re trying to pack light, these items are great for traveling to sunny destinations. VALLEY, along with most dermatologists, recommends using SPF 30 or higher. Brands like Sun Bum and Blue Lizard offer high-quality SPFs. The products we linked are also reef safe!

Take inspiration from influencers Natalie Downey and Greta Wilson for the perfect warm-weather outfits. Watch Natalie’s most recent “Pack With me for Hawaii” TiktTok and check out Greta’s company The Beach Club which sells totes, hats, beach t-shirts and swimwear.

Cold Destinations

If you’re headed somewhere with cold weather, don’t forget these items! They will have you feeling confident and cozy on your trip.

Clothing:

  • Cozy sweaters
  • Warm pants
  • Puffer jackets
  • Boots

Accessories:

  • Ear muffs
  • Scarves
  • Gloves
  • Crossbody bags

Makeup/Skincare:

  • Moisturizer with SPF
  • Lip balm
  • Mascara
  • Blush

When traveling to cold places, it’s important to remember to always dress in layers. A quick tip on layering is to remember the following:

  1. Start with a well-fitting first layer like a long-sleeve shirt and leggings.
  2. For the mid-layer, consider wearing anything from shirts to sweaters, button-downs and more. The idea is that you still look presentable if you get too warm and have to take your outer layer off.
  3. For the outer layer, think of vests, jackets and blazers. A pair of leather boots will be warm and match many outfits. You can also add hats, purses, gloves, and jewelry to style your outfit.

  • Slippers
  • Comfy sweaters
  • Blankets
  • Face masks

Shops like Aerie and Lululemon offer a wide variety of comfortable and cute outfits that are perfect to wear at home.

No matter where you’re headed over spring break, these outfits and accessories will help you get started with your packing list (or lists). Get a head start now so that you can enjoy your time off without ever having to worry about what to wear.
