The Team Behind Jalen Hurts

As the final seconds ticked down and fans in green and white yelled with excitement, it was announced that the Philadelphia Eagles were the 2025 Super Bowl champions, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs. For the second time in franchise history, they brought home the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy. Leading the team to victory is starting quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts. Beyond his success on the field, Hurts is continuing to make history with his management team which is a group composed entirely of women.

How It Began

Before being drafted by the Eagles in 2020, CNBC shares that he received a LinkedIn message from a woman named Nicole Lynn saying, “Hey, have you picked an agent? If not, I’d love to link.”

Statistically speaking, fewer than 5% of certified NFL agents are women. By choosing Lynn along with four other women (and zero men) Hurts made more than a statement. According to the star quarterback during a press conference, Hurts described that he, “was seeking out the best, and that’s how it happened.”

He made a rare move for a player in the NFL to have an all-female management team. Most sports, especially football, are a male-dominated field where it is difficult for women to hold significant roles. However, Jalen Hurts’s public relations, marketing and management team includes strong females who he defined as, “straight hustlers” in an interview with Sports Illustrated in 2022.

Meet the Team

The team is from Klutch Sports Group Agency, an American sports agency that represents athletes in the NBA, NFL, MLB and WNBA. As mentioned before, Nicole Lynn is the Eagles quarterback’s primary agent and is in charge of contract and career strategy. Chantal Romain holds the position of media relations. Shakeemah Simmons-Winter is Hurts’s publicist. Marketing and branding is headed by Rachel Everett and finally, brand management is run by Jenna Malphrus.

This powerhouse group of women have helped represent Jalen Hurts during his career. In particular, Lynn saw this moment as more than a career milestone. Hurts shared with CNBC that Lynn said, “I’m a woman. People are going to overlook me. People are going to doubt me. They’re not going to give me the due respect. But I’m overcoming it, just like you do.” Eagles quarterback admires that drive about Lynn and the rest of his team. “They get things done. And that’s how I am on the field and off the field,” Hurts explains in the same interview with Sports Illustrated in 2022.

Continuing to Make an Impact

The recent Super Bowl win was not only an accomplishment for the players on the Eagles, but for the management team as well. Jalen Hurts’s decision indicates that talent and dedication have no gender. VALLEY believes that this is one of the many steps in paving the way for more women to thrive in the sports industry.
