At the airport, there are a range of fashion statements from cozy and chic to business casual. Are there any rules that dictate what should or shouldn’t be worn during your travels? Technically, no. However, with high air fares and limited allowances for extra luggage, fashion has quickly taken off from the airport.
An Over Packer’s Nightmare

Way back when, booking your flights was easy. You’d see the price on the airline’s website, and that was all you had to pay. The price of your ticket included a suitcase or, at the very least a carry-on for a slightly cheaper airfare. Now, the price you see on the airline’s website is that, plus an additional price of a carry-on or suitcase.
This is the worst outcome for an overpacker who is attempting to fit a week’s worth of outfits into a tiny bag. Many travelers fall into the overpacking category, others pack just right and very few under pack. As the amount of space allotted for people to pack is forcefully shrinking, panic arises. Depending on the type and length of vacation you plan on taking, a personal item is not going to cut it.
Pack Your Bags… Or Wear Them

With such limited space, the option to wear a cute airport outfit is not always attainable. People have started wearing the clothes that don’t fit in the suitcase. Arriving at the airport wearing layers of clothing just to take them off at security is not an ideal move, but sometimes a necessary one. Many people are opposed to doing so because they think they will look silly. But, if they turn around, they would realize that there are people with multiple hats and jackets on all around them and understand that: it’s an epidemic.
TSA has not come out with any rules explicitly prohibiting this practice. The only downside is that you will most likely get sighs from any rushing passengers trying to get past security as you take off each bulky layer on your way past the x-ray machine. Some might even argue that there are benefits to wearing multiple layers on the plane. It is impossible to predict the temperature of the aircraft you will be on for the next several hours. Sometimes the cabin is extremely hot, while other times it is freezing cold and there is nothing you can do about it.
