With the semester coming to a close and finals week just around the corner, sometimes you really need to escape all the schoolwork for a little and give your brain a rest. If you’re like us, nothing helps relax the mind while also sparking inspiration more than a day of shopping … well you’re in luck because Pop Up Ave is returning to State College just before finals week.
It’s Back!
Pop Up Ave is a free event that will be held on Saturday, April 27, at the 100 block of South Fraser Street. Stop by anytime between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and check out everything this amazing event has to offer.

So Much To Shop
Returning to Pop Up Ave, you’ll find handcrafted jewelry at vendors such as Amanda Leilani Designs Molly au Contraire. You can also shop at Mixtape Paper Co., which sells 100% recycled cards with bold, retro designs and Moonrise Candle Co. which sells naturally fragranced and simply aesthetic candles. These will also be the popular Midtown Dandy which is a vintage and second-hand clothing store tailored towards men.
Shoppers will also discover new vendors to Pop Up Ave this spring such as CieraMade, KaibellaCo and Zoils & Pigments.
The Perfect Day
When you need a break from shopping, take advantage of the food options available as well. Super Duper Café, Bonnie Blue’s BBQ and The Cakeshop by Tati will all be serving dishes that will get your mouth watering. There will also Bees Knees Coffee and mocktails by Happy Valley Nomadic Spirits for non-alcoholic beverage options.
As if this event could not sound any more enticing, there will also be performances by a variety of artists throughout the day. Be sure to stop by the stage by the Elk Creek Café + Aleworks beer garden to catch performances by DJ Elbow Knee Knee and DJ Gingerman. As well as bands such as Hot Fudge Yacht Club, Twin Court, Weird Dream, Joe Belle and La Musica De Echa.

Take a Break and Check It Out
We all need some time away from our studies, and the feeling that our heads are about to explode, and this event is the perfect opportunity to do so! Items come in a wide range of prices and the event intends to provide something that everyone loves and can buy. There is no better way to spend a spring Saturday than at an outdoor street vendor, so gather your friends and enjoy everything this event has to offer!
