As Penn State students, we go through some experiences that are definitely abnormal. If they are normal, there aren’t really words to describe the experience or feeling to someone who hasn’t lived through it themselves. Sometimes it may be hard to describe the confusion of an experience, the joy or even the fear. Here is VALLEY’s list of Penn State experiences that there just aren’t quite words for yet …
Meeting Your Freshman Year Roommate For The First Time
Those initial days with your roommate who you don’t know at all, but are all of a sudden living with can be interesting. The awkwardness is hard to overcome. Sometimes it’s a sigh of relief, but sometimes it’s not …
Getting Denied From Your First Frat
“Do you have a text?” It’s a humbling experience, but good for character development.

Taking Your First Pollock Testing Center Exam
Whether you didn’t bring a bag with a zipper or forgot your ID, the Pollock Testing Center is a nerve-racking experience. Bonus points if you get the lecture before entry from the workers.
Trying To Find Housing A Month Into Freshman Year
You just got settled into your freshman year dorm, and now you have to look for sophomore year housing. Do you even have enough friends to fill an apartment yet?
Going Back Home For The First Time
Home-cooked meals, seeing friends and family, lying in your comfortable bed and having your laundry done for you. It’s hard to beat.

Game Day
People can describe the Penn State game day energy, but it isn’t until you tailgate and walk into Beaver Stadium that you truly understand.
Winter Sorority Rush
It’s cold. It’s snowy. It’s crowded.
Not Getting Football Tickets
No explanation needed …

Failing Your First Test You Thought You Did Well On
This happens to the best of us. All you can do is move on and think, “Better luck next time.”
FALLING IN THE SNOW IN FRONT OF EVERYONE
It’s bound to happen at some point.
Trying To Find A Nail Salon
Ask a group of girls where to get your nails done in State College, and the room may go silent. Someone will have a complaint for every salon in the area. If it is not the nail job itself, it’s the long wait times or the high prices.
Going To The Gym During The First Week Of Classes
The lines outside the gyms during the first week of classes are something that needs to be studied. All of a sudden, everyone in State College is a gym rat? But then the second week of classes rolls around, and everyone seems to have given up on their goals … typical.
Even if you haven’t experienced these moments yet, you are bound to at some point. And the list seriously does not stop here.

Its such as you read my mind! You seem to understand a lot about this, such as you wrote the e-book in it or something. I feel that you could do with some percent to force the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is great blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.
