Find Your Frames

Sunglasses are more than just a fashion accessory, they are essential to protect the eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays. As the weather grows hotter, they become a staple for everyday outfits. Whether lounging on a beach, walking to class or simply stepping outside, the right pair of sunglasses can make all the difference. With so many different frames and styles, how do you know which suits you best? Using face shape along with personal preference you can find the perfect pair to enhance your style and protect your eyes.

Face shape

Face shape is not a necessary, but helpful first step when choosing sunglasses. The purpose is to choose a set of frames that complement your features. To determine your face shape, look in the mirror at the overall outline of your face. While no two faces are the same, there are general rules for each of the four face shapes.

A round face typically has fuller cheeks and a rounded jawline, while a square face has a strong jawline and angular features. Oval faces often have balanced proportions and heart-shaped faces have a wider forehead and a pointed chin. And with that, below are some of VALLEY’s favorite lenses!

Wayfarer

What was originally a classic design with a bold rectangular frame, has been made more popular with Ray-Ban’s modern take on their Wayfarer sunglasses. These have a square appearance with rounded edges for a less retro and more casual appearance. These frames are best for square, oval or heart-shaped faces.

Oval

Perfect for any occasion from classy to casual, these rounded lenses also provide the most protection for the eyes. They create a sophisticated look but offer room for modification. From changing the color, to the thickness of the frame, you can create an entirely new look. These are ideal for softening angular face shapes and they work perfectly for those with square or heart-shaped faces.

Cat-eye

Often associated with the Hollywood Glamour of the 1950s, they bring a bold and dramatic flair to any look. They get their name from the upper, outer curve of the frame that mimics the shape of a cat’s eye. They add a touch of elegance and mystery to any outfit and work well with all face shapes!

Rectangle

While a softer alternative to square frames, the sharp edges on the frames and a more narrow lens create a structured look. Similar to oval sunglasses, these larger lenses provide high UV protection while maintaining a sleek appearance. These are perfect to create a stronger look and go perfectly with round or oval face shapes.

Aviator

The most timeless style of sunglasses is none other than the aviator. While initially developed for pilots to protect their eyes while flying, aviators have become an iconic style for decades. Their unique teardrop shape and vintage thin frames are instantly recognizable. These classic sunglasses work best for oval, round or heart-shaped face shapes.

Even though Associate Diplomas are a great way to get started on, completing your Bachelors opens up many opportunities to various careers, there are numerous online Bachelor Course Programs available through institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another thing is that many brick and mortar institutions present Online variants of their qualifications but commonly for a drastically higher charge than the companies that specialize in online education programs.

  • I have noticed that costs for internet degree specialists tend to be a terrific value. For instance a full Bachelors Degree in Communication from The University of Phoenix Online consists of 60 credits from $515/credit or $30,900.
