BTS, the international K-pop sensation, is making a welcome return to the spotlight after almost a four-year hiatus. Wasting no time to take back the spotlight, the supergroup has already announced a full-length album expected to be released sometime in March, not to mention a world tour spanning 34 regions beginning in April.
To ring in their reign, BTS announced a free concert in Seoul on March 21st — an estimated 260,000 fans flooded the ticketing website in seconds; an instant sellout, according to The Guardian. While listeners from around the globe are glad to have their favorite boy band back from mandatory military service safely, their post-comeback success is almost a no-brainer.
Already having earned the status of “idol” from collecting countless awards and recognition for their musical and choreographic talents, the BTS boys also double as style icons. In preparation for this new era, let’s look at some of their best fashion moments of the past.
Dynamite Style

Looking sharp in suits or opting for more individualized styles — BTS never misses a beat. They’ve been throwing a fit since they stepped onto the scene in 2010, no small feat for the seven members as they always arrange themselves in the perfect pose for pictures, too.
Just as their music pulls from an array of genres for inspiration, their fashion mirrors this integration and stylization. Early in their career, much of BTS’s best looks were rooted in street style and utilized many different colors and patterns. As they grew as artists, their fashion progressed too.
With more global recognition came more globally recognized brand deals. Suga for Valentino, Jimin for Dior, and J-Hope with Louis Vuitton—luxury doesn’t always substitute for style, but there’s no mistaking these ensembles as something spontaneously chic.
Hair Affair

This look from the band’s 2019 Grammys’ Red Carpet was such a historic slay that the suits were added to the GRAMMY Museum’s “On The Red Carpet Presented By Delta” exhibit, according to Teen Vogue. While we already know the BTS wardrobe is always setting trends, their hair and other accessories have helped each of the boys stand out.
Dyed, layered, and effortlessly messy, this group’s hair became synonymous with their sound and style. Pairing their hair with other more stereotypically “feminine” accessories, like dangling earrings or assorted rings and bracelets, these boys helped break down gender barriers.
The Boys Are Back In Town

With style this unbeatable, fans are anticipating a new and extraordinary fashion era for the group. Since their hiatus, global fashion has had major shifts, but these boys are adaptable. As BTS reclaims their boyband throne, it will be thrilling to see how these princes of pop fashion their comeback.
