Bryon Noem, husband to Kristi Noem, former Secretary of Homeland Security, has recently been caught up in a cross-dressing scandal. The couple has been married for almost 34 years, with three children and four grandchildren together.
Who is Kristi Noem?
Kristi Noem abides by a harsh conservative political outlook, having spoken out against LGBTQ+ rights, standing in opposition to transgender rights through political action. Kristi was removed from her position in early March of 2026, due to poor management of immigration issues, personal allegations and a controversial ad campaign that utilized millions of taxpayer dollars.
Secrets Revealed
Recently, The Daily Mail published an exposé on Bryon Noem alleging that he lived a double life behind the scenes of his wife’s political reign. Bryon was reported to pay online adult entertainers and participate in cross-dressing roleplay, wearing women’s clothing and prosthetic breasts to pose for pictures.
Bryon can be seen in several photos wearing bright pink undergarments, and balloons under skin-colored clothing intended to mimic breasts. He holds the camera from dramatic angles with his face in clear view, making a kissy face. Little glamor is added beyond the prosthetics and pink clothing.
Bryon Noem was allegedly engaging in “bimboification” fetish content, obsessing over exaggeratedly large breasts. In several messages, he expressed desires of becoming a woman or being viewed as one in role-play scenarios.
One of the women Bryon was messaging online accidentally called him, as he was going by an alias online, and heard his real name and business in the voicemail greeting. When she decided to research him, she discovered photographs of him and his politically well-known wife.
Three women that Bryon Noem chatted with online reportedly sent hundreds of messages to the Daily Mail. This evidence would have left the former Secretary vulnerable to blackmail, especially after claiming her family’s transparency in a 2022 interview.
Not-so-secret?
President Trump, when addressed with the revelation, denied any knowledge of Bryon Noem’s personal activities. Kristi Noem herself also claims to have been “blindsided” by the scandal, though other sources from D.C. claim that Bryon’s tendency to cross-dress was an “open secret” within the couple’s circles.
Amidst the cross-dressing controversy, the couple’s money struggles also came to light. A federal financial disclosure shows that the pair has listed between $2,600,000 and $3,250,000 in debt since 2020. The majority of loans were dedicated to Bryon’s car wash and insurance businesses.
Unwanted Attention for the Noems
As the Noems’ world comes crashing down, the two have gained quite a bit of media attention, earning a spot on an SNL Weekend Update segment, as well as countless TikTok videos dedicated to mocking the couple.
Queer media outlets have addressed the situation by encouraging cross-dressing and other modes of healthy gender exploration, but questioning the hypocritical aspect of Byron Noem’s choices, especially since the family is outspoken on their conservative politics.
